It's been a while, but the reason for my absence is a good one. I've been concentrating on opening an on-line store, my that is challenging! But it's up and running now so I can hopefully take a break from it and enjoy the holidays.
The reason for my writing is an old complaint... my job. I've been cut to 20 hours a week, and it is causing us financial strain. Especially for the aforementioned reason - which was predicated upon HAVING a full-time position (which I was hired for only 3 months ago).
I am looking, actually I never stopped looking. But the market down here is saturated with other unemployed "lookers" - partially due to my original company (which lay me off a year and a half ago), laying off another 500 people recently. That is a total of about 2000 souls down here in "paradise" out of a job or looking for one, all dumped into the job search within a short period of time.
Although I wasn't thrilled with my current employer, I counted myself blessed to have a job... so much for that thought!
Anything you feel led to send my way will be gratefully accepted, your helpful, generous, loving... positive comments always are so comforting and healing.

Well done, Jen. the website looks good and those lampshades are lovely. You surely don't make them all yourself. Now of course the key thing is to get as many people as possible to view your site (and buy those shades!) Best of luck. BTW I think I'm right in saying you can put the website in your signature here on HP so it will come up every time you post. the mods will know better than I.
As for job hunting: this is obviously a trying time for you, but keep positive and the right job will arrive at the right time. You are being tested but I'm sure you're strong enough to rise to the challenge. Good luck on this too.
