As some of you know, I had the privilege of being able to care for my sister when she had cancer - until she died at home, as she had wanted, in January 2005. She said all along that she hoped Roger - her husband - would find someone new to share his life with once he had dealt with his grieving for her.
He did find someone - Lynne - who is a lovely lady and they seem to have been very happy. The other day I heard from Lynne that she had to go for a scan as they were concerned by some test results. The scan has shown she might have cancer - another tumour, same place as my sisters original one and equally, found as a chance finding when checking out some other results.
Lynne goes back to the consultant on the 22nd to see if if it is malignant. I feel desperately sorry for Lynne.. but I just cannot imagine how Roger must be feeling to have the same thing happen again after he went through some difficult times but was so supportive to Moira, my sister.
Please could you send healing thoughts and above all strength for both of them and those of us who love them... to cope with this news.
I so hope the consultant says its a false alarm but, given the tests, I fear it won't be.
