I have a cat, he is half persian, his name is Shadow, he is 12 and I have had him 11 years. He is fat or used to be, over the last month he has got really thin, I have given him a flea treatmentand a worming treatment, no help.
He has never been to the vet in 11 years, I think it could be his thyroid but I am really worried incase it turns out to be something worse. He hasnt lost his appetite and isnt listless, hes just lost a lot of weight really suddenly.
I couldnt imagine not having him around, could people keep some thoughts for him over the next few days.
I am going to take him to be checked over but I am worried.
RE: for my cat
Hi crystal, the only thing you can do is get him checked over by a vet, hopefully it's something small & treatable, it could just be old age, in my expereince cats do get thin when they get old & 12 is aq good age for a cat. Sending both Shadow & you lots of love & positive thoughts

RE: for my cat
Thank you. The thing is, he has always been big, he always eats well and still is, my mum has a half persian as well and he is also huge. Its just that he has gone from being a big cat to being a skinny thing in such a short space of time.
My mum will take him to the vet next week but Im off on holiday on Monday and Im just upset that I wont be there when he goes to the vet.
RE: for my cat
Sending positive thoughts and love and support. Hope the vet gets to the bottom of the problem and your cat gets well soon.

RE: for my cat
I'm so sorry about Shadow, it must be such a worry. My Angel became very thin when she got older and passed away when she was 19yrs old.
Sending Shadow lots of love and Reiki energy for his highest good and a big hug for you too.
Love and light
