Hiya Nature Gals & Guys 🙂
Spring is here, and it is time to wax the beastly appendages attached at my hips! Up until this past fall I have shaved my legs, I guess for 15 or so years. I've let it grow on my legs for the last couple months, it's definitely long enough for waxing [:-]
Does anyone here make their own, or do their own waxing? I've found some sugar/lemon recipes, and heard of sandpaper-like gloves for rubbing hair off. I wonder what other options are out there?
Thanks in advance for any advice!

Yeah the Body Shop used to sell the paper that you rubbed on your legs, used it many moons ago but dont know of anywhere else that sells it.

I got those sanpaper things in Superdrug and I think Boots still sell them. They are called Silkymit and they're made by Alida.

I bought about twenty packs of them because I wasn't sure I would see them again. That's why I don't know if Boots or SD still sell them!

EEEEP I can jump in here, the sand paper thing you're talking about is not recomemded!

It does not really get rid of hair, only snaps the hairshaft in half above skin surface and stimulates the hair folicle making it grow back thicker and stronger. It's worse than shaving!

Sugaring hurts more than wax due to not being hot and keeping the hair folicals closed.

I use cold wax strips that are warmed between the hands, it's less messy, less painful and cheapertoo.

Epliators arn't much cop either, it's like plucking your legs with tweesers - only slowly...

But good luck! lol

Hi UrbanHippy, glad to find someone with experience! Where do you think I could find those wax strips? I'm across the pond from you, so maybe I can google a brand name?
For an update, I'm back to shaving! I would prefer waxing, but until I can do it myself it'll cost me $30 every other month. I did have a wax right after posting here, and I loved the way my skin felt after! There were some rogue hairs that escaped my Ukrainian waxer, but considering the forest that she was faced with I'm still impressed.
