Have you also noticed that no one has twopence to rub together yet they all get their laundry done, eat copious amounts of fry ups, spend most evenings in the pub - unless of course its "on the owse", and do their weekly shop in the Minimart. Blimey don't they have a LIDL near by?

Can't say I'm a regular viewer of EastEnders (or, indeed, a viewer at all), but I used to see it occasionally and it always seemed to me that the borough in which it was set was entirely divorced from anywhere else in London. No one , it seemed, ever went to work anywhere else in the capital.
Maybe because it's actually in Elstree...?
