Many things happen in your life that have no reason,
You are wrong. This life, to me, is not all that it seems. To me, my life is, in and of itself, like a vision, where all things have significance, and I engage that significance for what it can teach me, or simply to experience it, for the sake of experience. For you, there is no reason, and you are blown to where you are for no reason.

unless you believe that you are a puppet being manipulated through life, and everyone else is too.
There are more possibilities than this.
ORIGINAL: energyatwork
But to believe that, you must believe that you have no choice in life.
Choice is not all that it is cracked up to be..... often in life we have no choice over what happens to us, and for some, no choice at all... our only choice, in that case, is in how we face the experience. Many people pull our strings, but we ourselves retain dominance over our feelings.

Therefore those who believe something different to you are just doing what they are supposed to do and there is no point to this conversation.
It could be that to do something when there is no point is all part of the exercise and point of life. I agree, there is no point, and yet it was part of our visions, you and I, that we would meet like this.

Now to say that all things have value (to you) in one way or another is very different. You do learn many things simply by being alive and some are helpful and some are notwhich could be translated to mean good and bad if you want.
You are wrong. ALL things that happen to us are helpful, or they would not happen. You are locked in to thinking that only things that make you feel good are worthwhile - you are wrong..... nothing happens to us that does not contribute to our experience here in the world... it is just that for you, you buy and sell bliss, and so think that bliss is the be all and end all. There is worth to all of our expereinces, even those that do not ticke our fancy.....

[Notice that we never stated that Love is the nature of existence. We asked if that which you seek and call the nature of existence could be that something else that you said we, collectively, call love. Our question to you is what could that something else be?
*we* of the X continuum find it interesting that you speak as *we*.... what do YOU think, personally??? Or, is it now at the point where *you* and the *group* have the same thoughts? The nature of existence is not what you think it is, in my humble view - it is not *love* and *love* is not what people use to refer to the nature of existence. Love is simply one aspect of being human. Anger is just as important as love, so is hate.... in fact, they are all equal, and they are all just aspects of us.... you are worng to elevate it in to your god, in my view, if you truly seek knowledge. Love-worship is just as much a mistake as ape worship.

[And our reference to battle is not a war with life, but an affirmation that there are things that hurt, intentionally or unintentionally.
Hmmm... I think that you have used the battle metaphor many times, and this is the first time someone has pointed out that it is all about being at war with life. For me, I am warrior, but I have no war with life... for you, you are at war with life - one look at your website and I can see that you are at total war with life... anything that is not love or happiness is your enemy, and is *bad*....

Hurting, to my way of thinking, is not helpful to my getting the fullness out of this life
For you, *fullness* means only personal pleasure, satisfaction, that which is pleasing to you. By any one's standards, this is not fullness.

...out of self importance we place huge emphasis on love, for the most selfish reasons - it makes us feel good. For me, I need more than just to feel good.
...love has been over emphasised in to being the answer, just because no one looked past it......
Sorry to cut and paste so drasticaly but these points demanded answers...
Okay, you say you need more than just to feel good. So - what do you need?
And if no one has looked past love (which I doubt, but I'm not versed in philosophy), then what is past love?
Moonfeather
MANY have looked past love.... countless many.... what is past love is not something that everyone wants to know about, and I can understand that.
For me, love is not as important as *knowing*. I need to know.
RE: Not so brave....
Energyat work are in fact two people .Xia., Nancy and Steve and have been members of this website for many years now. So they speak of 'we' as they are indeed two people.
Your posts are becoming more confrontational, and your manner less than enticing.
This is the final warning to keep within the rules and guidelines of HP, and post according to them.

I can relate to that.

RE: Not so brave....
Hello Xia,
How far your perceptions of us are from where we are. You say we are wrong without truly knowing what our beliefs are but see them through your own eyes of increasing anger.
We have been thrilled to see your posts because it is those who challenge beliefs that cause us to reexamine our basic tenets, and those who have posted here for years will acknowledge that. Challenge away, but do not assume that your past experience is the same as ours.
We do not ask that you accept the words that you read. As any teacher, the responsibility that we (Steve and Nancy Ives) feel is to put forth information. You are free to accept or reject as you see fit and we are not personally affronted if you do not agree.
No, we do not frequently use a battle metaphor, nor do we float namby-pamby from one experience to another. Your interpretation of our words is your prerogative, but we carefully choose the words we write and say what we "really" mean.
Satisfaction within this life is surely a goal for us, as is working together and learning how to interact with others. Personal pleasure is nice but certainly not a guarantee, as anyone who is alive (and/or married) will assure you. Do not take our words personally for they are meant generally, as a springboard for further thought.
As to "who we be has little significance", we have never even implied that--just that life now is remarkably similar to life as it was 3000 years ago and life as it will be 3000 years from now. That the self and its approach to life, its relationship to the rest of time, and its position in history is significant primarily to the individual.
Predilection. Which part? Preference, bias, prejudice, partiality? With or without research before developing that predilection?
