RE: Let there be LIGHT

The year before last I mean the end of 2003 lol silly new year confusing me [&:] I hadnt been very well for a long time (this was before my diagnosis) it was my birthday and i couldnt do anything for it you the usual go out, get drunk lol or even be out of bed for most of it...but anyway my mum retired that same year and did something truely amazing for me...so anyway i go into the parents bedroom to open my presents because my dad had to be at work at stupid o'clock and they gave memy presents, the first present was a wool hat, gloves and a scarf, the second present was a digital camera which is wicked, because the first one ended up in a puddle (dont know how that happened ;)) the third & forth present was a thermal vest and long johns and the next present was a tiny teddy raindeer (btw my bdays in october lol) So am sat there with these presents going ok [&:] then mum handed me this envelop inside was a snow scene birthday card and a print out from the computer which said I was going to lapland in december for the day!! My mother had bought me a ticket it lapland [:-] I've always loved snow, i mean mad love snow and she knew i was gonna try and go in 2004 but she decided to pay for a ticket for me!! she had used some of her retirement money to buy me a ticket!! I started crying coz i was SO happy i couldnt believe it!! Apparently she had booked it in July! Anyway i was sat there crying then mum handed my sister an evelop as well and inside it said that there was ticket under her name as well!! [:-] And then my sister started crying!! It was by far the BEST birthday present ever and going to lapland was probably the BEST day of my life!! It was truely amazing I almost cried when i meet Santa (coz hes the real one you know!) and i had the great fortune to see the Northern Lights while i was there...

I dont know if this constitutes a lightness but its one of the best things that ever happened to me :D:D

Oh and also i have this thing where everyday I do one kind thing for someone else...could be anything from making a cup of coffee to donating blood kinda thing...But anyway there was this homeless guy i knew I gave him money and cigs and stuff like that bought him a sausage roll or a cup of coffee he was a really sweet guy but anyway one day during christmas time i meet him and he had been kicked out of the hostel he had been staying in he was in a real bad way but he still took the time to help me find a nice present for my mum i gave him some cigs and the change i had and wnet on my way...but then i started thinking about what i had and wot he had and stuff so i went to the cash machine withdrew £50 and gave it to him as a christmas present...anyway after that i didnt see him for about a month then one day i was in town and i met him...he had a flat and a job and was doing really well for himself apparently he had used the money i had given him to get himself sorted...i dunno why am mentioning this but i feel it should be put here [&:]

God said let the light!...powergen said not until thursday 😀 (sorry)

RE: Let there be LIGHT

lovely story Willow, See it doesn't matter how young or old we are physically , we all have that inner child that will always believe in santa;) Id love to see the Northan lights i bet they were beautiful.

I'm like you i give my money away, Hubby hates me going to London I come back bankrupt!! It's always heart warming when we see how our efforts can effect others & especially when those others take that oppertunity to get themselves out of a rut.

Yep Wllow it's all light, keep up the good work .

Walk gently in love light & peace Maria xxx

RE: Let there be LIGHT

Great stories in here everyone!

Everytime I see this title Maria, I go straight back to Genesis 1 "And God said, Let there be light: and there was light." so thank you for giving me that daily reminder! 🙂

But you know, something else struck me. You started this thread saying:

For some time now I’ve been banging on about there is both light and dark in us all. We have beaten to death the Darkness bit , banged each other verbally over the head soo now its time to BALANCE it out with some light,

But Maria, light does not balance darkness. Darkness does not exist - it is smply the absence of light. Light DESTROYS darkness. What we believe in, we bring into our experience, so if you stop believing in something that the one Cause of all Goodness and Light never created, you might find it just disappears, like the fog when burnt off by sunlight.

Mary Baker Eddy had some wonderful insights into the deeper meaning of the Bible truths:

Genesis i. 3. And God said, Let there be light: and
there was light.

Immortal and divine Mind presents the idea of God: first, in light; second, in reflection; third. in spiritual and immortal forms of beauty and goodness. But this Mind creates no element nor symbol of discord and decay. God creates neither erring thought, mortal life, mutable truth, nor variable love.

and another passage from the chapter on Genesis in Science and Health:

Sleep is darkness, but God's creative mandate was, "Let there be light." In sleep, cause and effect are mere illusions. They seem to be something, but are not. Oblivion and dreams, not realities, come with sleep. Even so goes on the Adam-belief, of which mortal and material life is the dream.

She goes on to talk about the waking-dream where we mostly seem to live. So there's your remedy - wake up from the dream that there can be any power apart from Good! Let the Light into your life!

To me, this world is just being flooded with Light and Love at the moment in the wonderful responses to the tsunami. The unselfishness, the generosity, the caring and compassion and best of all, former deadly enemies are reaching out to each other with the hand of friendship and love. It's as if we've all laid aside the mortal dream and taken up the mantle of who we really are, the reflection of God's being!

Love and peace,

Judy

RE: Let there be LIGHT

I have lots of stories I could tell about my own encounters and observations of working with the light, but as they are too numerous to detail here, I will say just one thing. My own most recent and also one of the most humbling experiences of this I have had is the wonderful friendship and support I have received from so many of you here, especially over the last few days with my partner's hopsital treatment. Knowing I had such wondeful support here made things a whole lot easier for both of us.
