Hi all,
:023:
I have had these William Blake Tarot cards for years, and they have been sitting on my bookshelf gathering dust. Recently they have been calling out to me to dust them off and start using them...
I use angel cards all the time, and just tend to say what I feel, however, the tarot seems to be much more complicated with the various spreads etc.
Please can anybody out there advise me on how I go about starting this process off, do I just go through the manual and hope for the best or what?!! I have had a flick through the manual and it looks so utterly complicated - and goes into great depths about the unique Blake system - which I am not sure I understand
Has anyone else got these cards???
Any pointers would be greatly appreciate, and then when I feel comfortable and able I can start practising my new skills here!!
So, watch this space!!
Thank you, as always!
Love and Light,
Dipti  xx
hi,
I had not hears of this pack before, and did a search and found this review
[DLMURL] http://www.aeclectic.net/tarot/blake/review.shtml [/DLMURL]
which I think has some ideas you might find encouraging.
If they were mine I would begin by getting to know each card as a separate entity before I began to use them in readings.
I would do this through meditating on/with each card, probably one a day, or even one a week

Thanks
Oh wow, thanks Tigress, that's really great. The review was so helpful and written in a way that I could understand! I found the manual a bit jargony! I will start by meditating on each card..... thank you for your advice.
Watch this space, I will need to get practicing in a few weeks!!

Hello Dipti and nice to meet you 🙂
It might be helpful to you to have a quick read of Draiocht's recent post about learning the Tarot. I don't have the William Blake deck but have seen it. I like Blake's work, but think I might struggle with the cards!
I don't know anyone who actually uses them and have never seen them come up when I've seen free readings offered, so I don't think many readers favour them...though I might be wrong.
But...if they are calling you Dipti, give them a whirl and see how you get along. That said... there are in my opinion "easier" decks to introduce you to the wonderful (and sometimes) quite bizarre world that is Tarot :dft009:

Hey Barbara !
Thank you for your post, and lovely to meet you too :038:! Having explored a tiny bit of tarot, and from the plethora of info available on the web, I have also realised that there are definitely easier versions, but for some reason, this is the one I am totally drawn to.... even though, up till today I hadn't really got a clue about where to begin!
However, I started really working on card by card, and have done 3 today- only 70 odd to go!! However, I have a feeling that the "creative" aspects of these cards fit with my personality...
Would it be okay if I PM you when I need your assistance, as I really would value your input?? (Maybe I could do a reading for you :023:??!!)
Love and Light,
Dipti :021: xx
