Hello all,
I'd like as much input here as possible please 😀

I'm just wondering how important or otherwise it is for people to see testimonials on a Tarot website? I've added a few to mine that people have kindly sent me following an email reading. But...I'm not sure how relevant they are?

When I belonged to a "Tarot Association" the members there generally had testimonials on their sites, and to be honest I queried their "worth" becuse let's be honest, they don't really mean a lot.

I have however included a couple of sample readings, and plan to add more, as I feel these are of more relevance than "feedback?" It gives possible clients an insight into my style of reading and to some extent knowledge and skill. It's pretty rare to see professional readers giving public examples of their readings for some reason  I never could fathom that one out or get a sensible answer as to why not 🙁

So basically, may I ask...

What would you rather see on a Tarot site?
Testimonials from anonymous people
Or
Sample readings
Or
Both

Thank you in anticipation 🙂
Sincerely,
Barbara x

Hiya..for me yes, I think it is good to have testimonials/feedback on a website because it helps possible clients see that that your readings have been of help to others. Personally i wouldn't ever publically post one of my readings, purley because I feel like they're private to the person they're for..although I know you wouldn't say who's reading it was, but to me a reading is just a very personal thing. I've never posted my own feedback on behalf of someone but I do sometimes ask people to leave a comment on my guestbook, whether for a reading or just products bought

Thank you for replying Amy 🙂

I obviously wouldn't post a reading without consent and thankfully the people I asked, were more than happy to help me by saying "Yes, I could use their reading" Obviously anonymously.
I'm still not that convinced of their worth....
But it seems they are to some extent expected...and it won't take too much room up on the site 🙂

Thank you for explaining why you personally do not give an example of your reading style 🙂
Best wishes,

I know some testimonials can look contrived.....but.....as it is indeed a web site...and anyone can of course come across the site by browsing the web., and not personal recommendation.

I think I would expect to see recommendations/feedback and be put off if there weren't any.

I also think a very short fictitious reading/example is a good idea...obviously with a statement enforcing that its for purpose of demonstrating style only.

HTH 🙂

Thank you Fleur, I appreciate your thoughts 🙂

I think that's the thing with testimonials, probably a British thing, but I feel a bit embarassed posting them on my site :dft001: I know I shouldn't, but I do

I like the way Amy does it and I might add a guest book for this purpose too. Though at the end of the day we can only rely on the honesty of any reader, as you say, not to "contrive" their comments! But that's life...:)
