Hiya All,

I would prefer to attend tuition , and join others but do not know of any near me.

I have been having a browse round the net at various online/correspondence tarot courses...has anybody ever used them, can recommend any, found them useful??

I have various sets of cards, and would love to be able to do readings with them..I can understand what most of the individual cards mean...but struggle to string them into a sentence to develop a story or reading, never mind if its relevant to the person.

I would prefer to attend tuition but do not know of any near me.

Yes, I know there are probably willing volunteers on here to let me practice...but a I am a bit nervous:o.

Any thoughts anyone??:)

Hi Fleur,

I feel the same way as you about correspondence courses - I find it much easier with face to face tuition and the discipline of being in a group - also I think we learn from each other and its fun as well as broadening our social contacts. Having said that I am sure there are probably some excellent correspondence courses available if that teaching medium suits you, but I would only go down that route on personal recommendation.

Put out your message loud and clear to the universe that you are looking for a teacher, they say when you are ready the master will appear.

As far as tarot decks go - I am a bit of a traditionalist - and usually go for the decks that have derived from the Golden Dawn - the symbolism speaks to me and the use of colours too, though I have a growing collection of more recent ones. Making a story out of it all is the key - the type of spread you use will help you do this, I tend to stick to the Celtic Cross or an Astrological Spread.

I should have thought of that first, cosmic ordering and all that, isn't it easy to overlook that which we already know.....:o:), thanks Binah...

Hi Fleur,
TABI run an online course, but you have to join, which is £20.00 and then you pay for the course, not sure how much that is. I haven't done it, I have just taught myself over the years.

I'm a bit disillusioned with TABI and won't be rejoining when my membership expires, so I obviously can't sing their praises...But that is not to say the course isn't worth considering, it's an option.

I think cosmicfaery, a member here might do an online course of her own? It might be worth asking her for advice.

Good luck and if I can ever help, give me a shout. Do remember you can always begin with a one card reading and see what you can glean from that 🙂

I am currently under tuition with Sara Pearson, of Sara Pearson Tarot. I am lucky enough to be receiving private tuition with her, especially as she is so busy with readings. She has an online course which is exactly what she teaches when you're sat down in front of her. You have to pay for it, but she is then at the end of an email, ready to assist you if you're struggling.

She keeps it simple, preferring to guide you to use your intuition, rather than bombard you with loads of info and meanings that may not ring true to you.

I can honestly say that since beginning my tuition with her, my tarot has come on leaps and bounds. The cards now "click" for me. I never believed that my readings could be so accurate (and reading for HP members has confirmed their accuracy) If only I'd found her 15 years ago when I first felt drawn to tarot.....

She's a lovely, grounded lady, too. 🙂
