I found this about nightmares by Rosalind powell.
If stress and anxiety are the main causes of nightmares, it make sence to try and reduce the stress levels in your life. Easier said then done, of course, but even practising simple relaxation techniques before going to sleep could help.
The best way to cope with dream fears is to confront them. one of the ways to do this is to think through your nightmare when you are awake, and rehearse it sept by sept. When it comes to the scary part- when the monster appears or an attack looms-instead of running away, turn round and face it. Some therapists go even further and suggest that you not only stay put but actually fight back, either verbally or physically. the idea is that if you rehearse the confrontation in your waking life, you will prompt your memory so that you do the same when it happens in a dream.
Another way to confront the fear would be to re-run it over and over again, recording a description of the dream on tape or writting it down, then listening to or re-reading your account. This works on the premise that by continually confronting your fear you will eventually become familiar with it and therefore weaken its power.
Finally, you could appoint a dream guardian for protection. think of a person or animal(it could be one you know or simply imagine), whom you could call upon to help you if you have a bad dream. Then imagine yourself back in the dream and call on your dream guardian for assistance. Tell yourself that next time you have a bad dream your dream gardian will appear to help and protect you.
As you fall.
Hope you find this intresting folks.

RE: How to deal with Nightmares
Very interesting Lightwinds....
Strangly enough I had a nightmare last night....
I was a child living somewhere (don't know where) where the law was that if a couple could not have children then it was ok to steal them....
well i was stolen & the person that stole me was a man & he decided to eat me...as he said the law allowed him to do just what ever he wanted to do with me...then he went for me (like something possessed)....
I can remember screaming and trying to get away...then I could hear Simons voice who was trying to bring me gently out of it.....
scarey....

Hi storm, you know your nightmare sound like what you been through lately. be vonable as a child not knowing what happening... the law ..universal law.. guidence from above proction healing... fighting off any attack to your body not letting any thing eat away at you.
And recieving spiritual support and loving strength from simon..... talking to your spirit within and saying its over your free. Ride that white horse and ride toward the wind and the open seashore and let the hores kick the sand.

Thank you for that interpretation of my 'nightmare' Lightwinds...put like that, it does not seem so bad after all...I would never have thought of it like you have.
Ride that white horse and ride toward the wind and the open seashore and let the hores kick the sand.
Well, that sounds pretty good to me:D

RE: How to deal with Nightmares
Hi lovely Wendy and Jay[sm=wave.gif][sm=wave.gif]
Now heres an interesting thought, when you said fight back at your aasailant in your dreams, it triggered a memory i had of a dream once, as in life to empower yourself but not be the aggressor, radiate love. i have done this a few times, and as magic would happen the whole room turns into light. Sometimes I do forget and usually run away, my memory forgets in the dream. Or i knock seven bells of Ahem out of it. But quite amazing what an effect it has on the whole mood and outlook of your dream. It is after all your own private reality. Funny when I say I think this is an extended more complex version of a dream, "real life", sorry "dream life".
Love to all[sm=hug.gif]
