You decide. I have read scientific studies on it. It seems there is something in it, after all. I have found it a most useful tool.
A couple of excellent HP members suggested that I might start a thread on Astrology on the HP forums. Well, I looked and looked and there seems to be no place for it.
So here I am. A sort of all catch-all place. I hope the others already here before me will not mind, Well, not too much, anyway.
I know very little about Astrology and then only the Western system. Because of space restrictions, I shall only cover Sun Sign Astrology. So if I make HUGE errors, I hope you will make allowances.
Where shall I start? At the beginning, of course.
Well there are 12 Signs, 4 elements and 3 qualities. Best shown on a table, see:

The four elements arranged in this order (Cardinal, Fixed, Mutable) are:
Fire (Aries, Leo, Sagittarius) a warm personality. It warms me just to be in the company of Leo people.
Earth (Capricorn, Taurus, Virgo), Practical, good with money and DIY esp. Taurus(good gardener)
Air (Libra, Aquarius, Gemini) not as warm. Good at sports. More analytical or onjective (eg Gandhi)
Water(Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces) Intuitive, Artistic, some extremely so (e.g. Einstein)
So what do these mean?
Fire & Air: Both positive. Fast (in the mind) and faster. But can miss detail.
Water & Earth: Both negative. Relatively slow and slower. Hence detail easily grasped.
Positive: Extrovert by nature. Outgoing, confident. A natural doer.
Negative: More introspective or introverted. A natural listener.
Cardinal : Natural leader. Superb starter of projects.
Fixed: Good organiser. Good at follow-up. Tenacious. Sees through a project.
RE: Astrology, real knowledge or Bunk.
Hello Prashna and thanks for posting. Previous threads on astrology have been across the board ... Psychic/Paranormal, Spirituality and here in General Discussions. So it's fine where it is, and I'm sure many members will be interested in this, as we haven't had an astrological discussion for about a year now, I don't think.

When you posted last November, there WAS no Astrology forum, it having been created in June this year.
I've now moved this thread over here and edited your post to re-activate the link you provided.
I must say I was surprised at the time at the lack of response, but its original home always tends to be a rather busy place 🙂

As I wrote then, I do believe that the tabular presentation is most helpful. That's why I chose that particular website with some care.
It is not my intention to divert attention from astrology strict and proper, in this forum! But one quotation in that website is so compelling that I feel it is necessary to cite it:

IMHO, most folk that study astrology (the real thing) after a period time - will all migrate away from sun sign astrology; as it is so extremely limited and vague in any application. Those astrologers that make a living out of it - tend to stick to natal anaysis and progressed / transit work. I have known many astrologers and none of them have remained with 'sun sign' work; as I said - it is far too limited.
If you mean to introduce the subject and are using sun signs as the beginning - then my apologies - but I took your post to suggest that was all you would discuss?
There are a few astrologers on this site, so a forum category on the subject should be able to sustain itself. I'll post in now and again...
