Hello!
I'm overweight for my figure (somewhere around a stone and half above the recommendation). I started dieting but didn't help much. Then a friend of mine recommended me a product called Lipovon. She used and dropped about 1 stone so I wonder if anyone else has used it. Any advice will be appreciated
Thanks
I personally think that the only way to lose weight is to eat/drink less calories than your body needs and to exercise more. Taking pills or liquids which claim to help you lose weight may work in the short term but you'll pile the weight back on again once you stop taking them. And who knows what they are doing to your body.
Hi Lady Daisy
I agree with Ylangrose - all these diets, pills, potions and lotions are all short term measures. You will lose weight, but whether it stays off in the long term is questionnable. The banded around statistic is 95% of dieters put all the weight back on, and quite often more, within 2 years. Depressing thought hey?
However, your body is very clever and is programmed to give you precise signals of when to eat - physical hunger. But with our busy lifestyles, fast food, technology, lack of exercise, habits etc we have forgotten how to listen to our bodys' signals.
When we eat when we are purely PHYSICALLY hungry, as opposed to all the other reasons why we may eat - emotion, stress, tiredness, boredom, because it looks nice, it's calling me from the kitchen, to be polite, beacuse I'm on holiday...... the list is endless; then our body gradually becomes a healthy weight.
If you would like something practical to kick start your long term, forever eating plan try this...
Before you eat anything ask yourself 'Am I PHYSICALLY hungry?' If the answer is 'no', don't eat! Distract yourself and go and do something else instead. If the answer is 'yes' - eat slowly until you feel just full.
If you are not sure and would like a better guage, you can use the hunger scale. 1, being I'm so hungry I could faint, all the way up to 10, if I eat any more I'm going to burst! The trick is to not to get too hungry or you'll end up eating too much, too fast of the nearest thing you can get your hands on! But don't eat when you are full - as your body is telling you it does not physically need any more food. Eat when you are between a 3 and 6. Does this make sense?
So in essence, the key is to listen to your body and the natural hunger signs it gives you. Your body was designed to be a healthy weight, it's just our fast consumer lifestyle which has got in the way and bad habits. Good luck!
I think most eating problems are a sign of some other happiness or dis-ease... We all know eating less and exercising more is ideal, if it were that easy we'd all be doing it lol! In fact my problem tends to be making sure I'm not underweight, I am prone to eating rubbish at daft times, or having the same portion size as my children.
So are you unhappy? Is eating a bit of a comfort? I think you need to find a better way to be nice to yourself if so 🙂 would you try hypnotherapy? It's not hippy woowoo stuff at all, and should empower you to make better choices and generally happier.
Also... Eat a proper breakfast! I know from chatting to friends who have the opposite problem to me, that we are all prone to skipping the first meal, due to rushing or to lose weight etc. Then we snack later on rubbish which makes us feel down! Eat porridge, with golden syrup if you're naughty like me. If you hate it, try to find a wholefood shop which sells a plain muesli base. Most of the shop ones are full of sugar and more rubbish than they want you to think. My son tried muesli at his grandparents and requested it at home...he got a shock as they must have a sugar loaded one, lol! but now he really enjoys plain muesli with some fruit stirred in and sometimes something more natural to sweeten it.
Anyway don't know if that helps, but I know bad habits can be very hard to change! Be kind to yourself, you deserve better than horrid chemical things x
Regular exercise and balanced diet is the solution for the problem of over weighting,
If you follow your diet plan stickily then it is easy to lose your weight in faster manner. Don;t eat extra spicy and oily food items. Follow regular exercise like running and walking.
Hi ladydaisy,
Never tried Lipovon but have some tips for you to lose weight effectively.
Break meal in 5/6 small meals,
Drink 12/15 glass of water daily,
Prefer raw food over processed food,
Avoid beverages, soda and diet soda,
Drink green tea twice in a day,
Eat slowly and chew food well,
Avoid alcohol and fast food,
Do start some exercise, sport or any physical activity.
Slimming foods & other tips
There are certain foods to help with slimming such as organic live yogurt or kefir (another fermentation far more beneficial than yogurt) which is easier to make because the milk does not have to be heated. These cultures do actually help weight loss as long as you stay within the calories you need. If you aren't keen on the taste it's easy to add oat bran, honey, grated apple or soft fruits, a few raisins. It is much better to use organic milk as there are less or no growth promoters in the food chain. Growth hormones by their nature will be more likely to make you gain weight, so avoid all forced foods including salads.
Yes, even salads can be grown faster by artificial methods such as growth hormones.
I've had a weight problem for several years due to various diseases. Now that I'm getting better & been able to follow a sensible diet I'm slowly loosing weight.
Approximately one day a week eat whatever & as much as you like. This maintains your metabolic rate. It also makes it much easier to stick to a slimming/healthy diet the rest of the time.
Good luck & be kind to yourself.
I don't think there is a shortcut to losing weight and it really is a case of maintaining a ballance. Having said that, there has been a lot of hype about Alli lately. It is a weight loss aid which can be used by those struggling with losing weight through dieting and exercise alone.
Irma J - where do you get your kefir from and how do you make it?
Your point of view is so wonderful, and I feel very interesting. I have a lot of immature idea where you get the answer, I will continue to focus on your posts, I hope you can continue to update, I will put my views and ideas to share with you.

I've heard some really horrible stories from people who have tried Alli. Let's just say they weren't able to leave home as they had to keep running to the toilet very quickly as they didn't get any sensation that they were nearly ready to go.
Hi there
There are always problems with any supplements or medication that you could take that promise to help you to lose weight.
In my experience, there's no alternative to starting to listen to what your body is telling you. Understand the reasons why you've got a problem with your weight. Are you pushing down emotions with food? Is it a problem with portion sizes or underestimating the amount of snacking that you do?
I always get my clients to complete a "What, where and why?" food diary - what you're eating, the location (kitchen, at a table, in front of the tv, in the car), and what were you feeling (hungry, angry, sad, lonely) etc.
That's a good start to understanding your weight problem and making the changes needed to your lifestyle to support a healthy weight.
Good luck

Drink 12/15 glass of water daily,
Not so sure about this, it won't fill you up and may put excess strain on your liver.
I personally suggest you that some easy and fast weight loose ideas.Make water your favorite drink. A person must have a minimum of 8 glasses of water in a day.Water helps in reducing weight in the most effective manner.Don't stuff yourself with food in a single sitting; instead have 5 to 6 small meals or snacks in a day. Eating several small meals helps the body to release less insulin, which keeps blood sugar steady and helps to control hunger.Make a habit of walking.Walk for at least 45 minutes every day; it helps in burning extra calories.Avoid taking white foods as they contain large amounts of carbohydrates etc.
I never use that, but to tell you frankly I am almost obese before. From my old weight was 280lbs now I am at my 145lbs for a span of 4 months. I just did a regular walking exercise in the morning, when it comes to my food I always eat lots of veggies and fruits, plus a lot of water. It really helps a lot and it is natural and safe, unlike those other way taking supplements but you may put your health into risk.
