I use childrens relaxation meditation cds.
www.relaxkids.co.uk

we use these for our younger children and they love them also find them to be confidence building and reassuring.

my oldest son never slept at all and is pretty much the same now (17 on saturday).we tried everything we could think.it is because of my sons sleep problems and behaviour problems that I trained in holistic herapy and he did enjoy indian head massage and reflexology, when he kept still for long enough.

good luck xx

Hi,

The best way to deal with bed times is:

- Routine, have the same routine every night. Don't let him eat too late in the evening. Make sure he knows bed time is bed time and there are no acceptable excuses for getting out of bed.

- Make sure he has no stimulents before bed, i.e. no coke, and nothing high in sugar.

- Take anytihng out of his bedroom that can stimulate activity, i.e. no TV or computer games.

- At the other end of the day make sure he gets up at a resonable time and doesn't sleep during the day.

- Cut down or eliminate processed foods, fizzy and high sugar drinks.

- Help him find a sport to take up, my son started karate at 6.

Myarka.

Maybe he dosen't get tired at 8pm, as my 3 got older, they messed about like yours so what i did was change the bedtime and they settled down better. What i do now is all three (mine are all secondary school ages) have to go to bed at 10.30 on schooldays, only one of those days they can stay up until 11 if there's something on they want to watch and at weekends its free rein.:)

HTH

Not sure where you are based, but if you find a good EFT practitioner in your area experienced in working with children, that could possibly do the trick - active children who are "on the go" and may not be able to sit still long enough to do any relaxation/meditation, usually take very well to EFT as it is quite a pro-active process and learn it quickly for self help, and it is certainly extremely helpful for sleep issues for both adults and children. You can also use soft toys, or specially made "tapping bears" (e.g. check Linda Wood's website www.tappingtoheal.com) to introduce EFT to children, and they can soon become special healing tools for the whole family!

Hi, I also have the same problem with my 9yr old. He is very active a night and always was. I can not force him to sleep and often when I go to bed at about 11.30 he is still awake. He reads in bed after I put him down and I thought that would help but it actually feeds his mind. I have chatted to him about it and he says he just can't go to sleep because he is not tired and he wants to be doing something. I should alos state that he is hard to get up in the mornings so I know he needs to go to sleep earlier. I have started putting lavender on his pillow and a tiny bit on his teddy and temples. I alo give hima tincture of night essence. It is fantastice. once he is calm going to bed the rest all works. He usually drifts of after about an hour. You could try this and I really hope it works for you.

hello

I noticed that someone had recommended the Relax Kids CDs above. I wrote the relax kids books and CDs and would be happy to suggest something for your son if you are still having trouble. I have also written a few articles on relaxation - you can find them here in the relax kids section of the articles.

My son wont sleep

Do try InnerTalk CD's
They appear to have a cd for just about any condition.
Subliminal messages are sent to the brain, if you Google innertalk particularly Vitalia Health more information will be available.

Hi Clareyangel,

Some other considerations may be Feng Shui and/or tachyon.

Feng Shui - allows one to assess the energies affecting the house this year. Or from when the problem started if not this year. If the bedroom is not in a favourable location/position it can manifest in what you are experiencing.

Tachyon - my suggestion would be a tachyonized meditation wrap. It is like having your own personal healer with you all the time. It will help soothe his restlessness and calm the mind. A client recently told me that while using it on her daughter, not only did her health improve, the teachers at her school commented on her boosted confidence, behaviour and talents.

Warmest Regards.

What? Where? How? You really should explain some of your recommendations in more depth, otherwise we are all just left wondering what your posts are about!
