Hey everyone, I'm just after a bit of advice...

I'm currently 38 weeks pregnant and the area around my uterus reflex on both feet have swollen and are very sensitive to touch and itch!

Being a reflexologist myself, I've not worked my reflexes much during my pregnancy as I've had a very problem-free time, and haven't felt the need. But instinct is now telling me to work on the area - should I?

I had a practice labour last weekend, and my midwife thinks my boy's coming early, so it wouldn't do any harm would it?

Any advice would be fab - thanks x

hi sunflower,

ahh the time is nigh, eh!!

ok... in reflexology terms, the swollen uterus reflex is just mirroring your swollen abdominal area... yes? its always interesting to see pregnant feet, for this is a very visual indication of pregnancy (the swollen uterus/ abdomin) and i like to see its disappearance afterwards.

at 38 weeks these reflexes can handle a bit of roughing up... it encourages new energy into the area and tells baby to get a move on! it'll be difficult for you to do yourself, so maybe if you know another reflexologist or maybe your partner could do it... some ankle "boogie" stuff, lots of deep pituitary pushing, large intestine... there are some other acu points too, but these are not generally worked in reflex foot treatments.

certainly work the repro areas... be positive and good luck!

Thanks for the advice 🙂 I went for a reflex session yesterday and slept all afternoon afterwards - it was wonderful! Then I asked my husband to give my uterus reflex a good going, which was absolute agony but really felt like it was doing some good!

So I shall ask him to do the same today....and every day until he arrives!!
