Hi Sarah,
I had a word with my sister, who does various forms of energy work.
The sore spot is indeed a 'neuro-lymphatic reflex point' and apparently these act like switches in the lymph system, turning it on/off. The lymphatic system acts as a drain in the body and according to some this includes negative emotions.
The way to switch these points in Touch for Health is to rub for about 30seconds, which is about the time it takes to do the setup.
So it's basically to get the lymph system flowing properly, which I guess is what counteracts the "psychological reversal"

She also reckons it's pretty close to points on the lung meridian, which is associated with 'letting go'

PS I also suspect that there is a significant contribution from all the presuppositions involved in the idea that rubbing on the sore spot while saying the setup phrase will counter PR!

I could not put it any bettermyself.

I had a client who's wife had lost her mum and wanted me to help her, i said im sorry i am fully booked but i can stop your session 10 mins early and do eft to take the edge off it for her, he agreed.

I sat her on my treatment couch and explained that i will help to take the edge off until we can get her in for an appointment, I rubbed her sore spot and asked her to repeat " even though I have lost my mum im ok"

she gave a large sigh and said "im ok now thanks"

i did no rounds at all, and we are now 1 year later and her husband says she still talks about it.

i know eft has 1 minute miracles but ( bloomin eck )

she was obviously massively reversed and this is the spot for reversal.

if a person is psychologically reversed then reiki , eft, and even medical drugs will not work , this is indeed an important point.

some say the karate chop is a good 2nd best for the neurolymphatic sore spot
