Hello,
Can anyone tell me if filo pastry is vegan? Or whether there is a specific brand I should be buying? In all the supermarkets they mark it vegetarian but never vegan so I'm now not sure.
Thanks!
HR
JusRol Filo pastry which is teh brand that most supermarkets tend to stock is vegan yes.
I can't remember the name of the brand but I did get some out of the fridge section in Sanisbury's (Balham London). It was not their own brand. Double check the 'allergens' section of the ingredients, most supermarkets and leading brand usually list egg, milk, soya......... which can make it easier to sus out the vegan form the veggie.
I know it can be a real pain, but over the years you get used to reading the ingredients quicktime (when shopping with the impatient partner).
When I'm in the supermarket this weekend, I will seek out the one I uesd and get back to this post.
Vegan Filo does exist.

Vegan, yes Justrol...not the one I used (can't remember) but their short crust and puff pastry is very handy in the freezer.
what do you make with it?
