Hello :) I'm self employed, so declare how much money I've made at the end of every year. However, during this year me and my wife had a child, and we now receive child benefits. Do I need to declare this/pay tax on it? I use an online tax tool to get a rough amount of the taxes I owe but I'm not sure whether to include the child benefits or not? I don't claim any other benefits. Hopefully the rules on benefits are the same whether you self-assess or pay tax via PAYE. Either way, thank you so much in advance! :)

I am in Bali with my husband, some friends and my 3yr old daughter. We got a babysitter last night to stay with the toddlers so we could all go out for dinner & drinks and about two hours after we left the babysitter called and said my daughter was burning up and had vomited. We all came home and tried to work out what to do. My daughter was sweating and vomiting so much she was going in and out of consciousness. We found an English speaking doctor at the resort who came to our room to see her. He said she had the stomach flu and gave us tablets to help prevent dehydration. I was up all night with her last night as she just did not stop vomiting. This morning her temperature has gone down slightly but it's still high and she's still vomiting. She's in so much pain she can't even cry and is kind of just lying on the bed all limp. I kinda feel like there isn't much point getting the resort doctor to come back again (he charged a lot and didn't do much) and is there much that can actually be done? Do we take her to hospital instead?? Really at such a loss right now. We aren't going home until next week!! We are staying in Nusa Dua.

In the past 12 hours she's had an 18oz bottle of water with one rehydration tablet (according to the package they are a mixture of glucose and electrolytes), two lemonade ice-blocks and a 12oz bottle of milk (breastmilk). She has vomited all of this back up though... Any idea what we can do??

I guess there are bound to be posts about this but my searches are just showing every post on the forum, or so it seems. The threads seem to be completely unrelated anyway. Apologies if I have missed something. My grandson has chicken pox and is obviously in a lot of discomfort. Can anyone suggest anything which will help? Something to apply to spots, in the bath? whatever will help?

thanks

I am posting this in the hope that someone might recognise this condition which seems to have the doctors baffled.

My son for the past 5 months has had frequent "crops" of bruise type lesions on his upper arms. There is no trauma to the skin and no explanation as to why they occur. The have only occured up until recently on his upper arms and they do not go through a "normal" bruise cycle of changing colour over time. So although I describe them as a bruise I guess that isn't really appropriate. He has also been frequently "under the weather" including complaining of joint paina and tummy aches which fits with a possible diagnosis initially given of Henloch Shonlein Purpura or HSP. The paediatrician said that if the condition continues by his appointment in June (which will be 6 months) he does not think it is HSP because it does not normally last as long, it is in an unusual site (normally legs) and (fortunately) does not involve kidneys.

Of course I have "googled" the condition and I have to say none of the images I have seen look anything like the marks he gets.

His blood is fine, platelets, antibodies etc... so they have ruled out anything sinister. My GP says he is not alarmed by it because he says he is otherwise healthy. As his Mum I am so very worried because for all this time he has not been himself.

On Monday he had no marks on his arms and before going to bed had been laying on his floor sobbing that he ached. That night he had a large flare up on his upper arms and one on his chest and legs (which is new because had only been arms prior) so it seems that the aches were directly related. The GP said he could not see any inflammation of his joints (the next morning) and could not therefore clinically explain the aches.

Yes we are seeing the paediatrician again in June and he might decide to take a different course of action/diagnosis. However as I am worrying myself sick over this I just wondered if anyone could add any advice?

Many thanks in advance!
