Default Ulnar nerve injury and I've started a Swedish Massage course

Hi everyone

I had problems several months ago with numbing and tingling in my 4th and 5th fingers. Anyhow just saw a Neurologist who said that I've a trapped nerve in my elbow and the numbing is coming from the ulnar nerve. However, he did say it should come back to normal with care and after physio.

I've recently started a Swedish Massage course and just don't know what to do? I'm waiting now to go for physio and am abit disappointed as I may have to stop my course. I'm abit worried that if I continue with the course I might do more injury? What would you do?

Sorry to hear about your injury.

It may well be that unfortunately you have to postpone your course. Putting pressure on that elbow (which is unavoidable in massage) would delay the healing process.

I advise you to follow any medical advice received on this one.

I agree with the above! And I am sorry to hear of your injury.

Another thing you could do is talk to your course tutors about your injury and see what they suggest? It is possible that they could still let you take the course but without doing the pracical massage until your arm is healed, granted you would have to catch up and it really depends on your course and how much the tutor could support you with any catching up you would need to do on the practical side.

you may have to pay and get a private treatment, a sports therapist will help.
