first aid & CPDs

an other therapist asked me the other day whether when retaking our first aid badges counts towards our CPDs for that year? i didn't know so i thought i'd post the question on here, any thoughts please.

depends on the policy of your membership organisation (MO), or if you are daft enough to believe that they all represent your interests for specific therapies, your membership organisationSSSSS.

My MO, is the STO and they accept any study that is linked with my work, ie fitness, coaching, teaching, therapy, research etc

i will relay the info back to my therapist friend, cheers big G

i will also ask my own MO which is the FHT if it counts, i hadn't really thought about first aid training counting towards my CPDs until my friend brought it up, done the first aid stuff because of insurance plus its good to know too

some MOs insist upon current HSE first aid cert as part of membership, and therefroe it wouldnt be CPD allowable.

i didnt realize the subject would get me as interested as it has now.

i have a good 18 months still to run on my FA cert, so when it runs out and i need to update my first aid cert will the course not count towards my cpds as i require it for my insurance.

or is a matter of contacting our MOs to clarify the case.

Im sure there are others on here who would be interested in the answer to this, well maybe
