Hi there.
I've had an enquiry regarding a client wanting an Indian Head Massage or Back Massage but who has indicated that they suffer from a heart murmur. My initial reaction is that this would be contra-indicated? Has anyone else come across this and did you get the GP's permission etc if you did go ahead with treatment? Thanks |

Hi Angelstar28,
I have never had a client with heart murmor but in my own opinion I think it I would ask your client to check with her doctor prior to treatment. You will be covered and feel happier giving the treatment. Love & blessings, Rachel |

I have a heart mumur and it has not at any time been indicated to me that therapies would be a problem. I hope this is the case as I am therapist and have treatments!!
But as mentioned for a new client I would consider it best practice to check with their GP. Ellie |

I have been told (a long time ago) by a hospital doctor I have an innocent heart murmur and that I could have had it from birth. Before I could ask any more he had gone. From the word innocent I through it meant I had nothing to worry about, but does it and why can’t doctors explain themselves better – heart murmur, innocent heart murmur what does that really mean. OK so I do not want to be overloaded with details but some would help.If in doubt it is best to GP's permission as enchantedhands says you will feel happier giving the treatment and you will be covered, it is better to be safe than sorry. ![]()
