hi i will be doing my usui level 1 on the 2nd feb i really can wait i found my reiki master on the uk reiki federation website and she lives about 10 min away from me i am just so excited to be taking my level 1 course which will be a 6 hour course in one day
well i had my attunement today, during the attunement i felt a funny feeling in my stomach that made me want to fidgit i just couldnt sit still lol and after i felt achey in my back and legs i thought i would feel warm tingly hands but didnt the teacher asked me to do some reiki on her but i didnt feel anything but she did say to keep practicing and eventually the reiki energy will get stronger and better all in all it was good and relaxing and now i will do nothing but practice, practice and practice lol
Different people will experience different things during and after their attunement. I remember by Reiki 1 where I simply felt an extreme heat on the crown of my head, whereas another student had a very strong emotional release and was reduced to tears. Likewise some people easily sense reiki flowing from their hands and others don't, but that doesn't mean it isn't flowing, and over time, with practice, this sensation may change, or it may not.
Keep practicing, keep self healing, and stick at it.
I remember my reiki 1 attunement, I felt tingly hands and flashing red in front of my eyes even though they were shut. Afterwards I couldn't really feel it flowing through me, it took a couple of practices to feel the subtle difference. People I practiced on were the give away that something was actually happening lol
ok so i have woken with a horrible cold, headache and feeling generally rotten i normally hate feeling ill but not this time because i know my body is clearing out toxins

Personally, I would rather use a healing modality to make me feel well, rather than making me feel ill, but that is a personal choice.
Surely the detox reactions are the body's natural method of eliminating toxins and this would occur regardless of the method used to cause the healing process?
Receiving Denju into Reiki starts a process of change for the student, part of this change is a healing process, which will be felt throughout the physical, emotional and spiritual bodies to a lesser or greater extent depending on the student's physical, emotional and spiritual well-being at the time of Denju.
Reiki is an effective healing method that can cause changes and improvements to the recipient's physical, emotional and spiritual bodies and as such the recipient will experience a process of change and healing - that is why people have Reiki treatments.

Gaia Holisix offers energy healing, so you're saying you know nothing about a healing crisis? Gosh, it makes me wonder why people decide they're qualified to practice professionally

You did ask though, didn't you.
According to your current understanding, someone needs to go through a process of eliminating the toxins within the body so that they can then become healed, which actually makes the elimination process the healing factor rather than the healing that they have received.
Now what would happen if you changed your belief into they can become healed through the healing that they received, without any other process being required?

It is not our normal practice to make people ill with our healing practice, they do after all come to be healed, people who come to us to learn how to heal, do not experience healing crisis or healing detoxes, they experience what they come for, which is healing.
I do remember many years ago being told on one of my many Reiki attunements that it happens, and surprise, surprise, sure enough I also woke up with the symptoms of a cold the next day, unfortunately the phone rang about an hour after I got up, with someone requiring my services, so I stopped it and prepared myself to practice healing, not experienced anything like that since that time, but then, I do not expect to experience it with healing.

I think this really sums up the main difference between my belief system and your Paul... I believe that the physical body has specific physiological processes that it uses in specific circumstances, some of which we can affect directly through our thoughts and some of which we cannot generally affect. When a person gets drunk, their body will expel the toxic substances over a period of time and this will cause the hangover symptoms - this process is not something that can be changed by changing belief or thought. I do believe we have immense power to affect our body through our thoughts, but I also accept that there are physiological processes we cannot change. This I believe is true on every level, we can use our thoughts to make changes in some areas but not in all areas.
Everything that we do is governed by our underlying thought patterns and beliefs, if someone believes that they have to stand on their head in the corner to become healed, then that is what they have to do.
When I heal someone from a hangover, I just heal them, one minute they are suffering a detox and the next minute they are healed.
When we examine our understandings of what we perceive healing to be, then that is what we both use to perform our healings, personally I perceive that it is the healing which creates the transformations that are required to create healing in all aspects of the recipient, where as you believe that the healing triggers a physiological process within the body and the physiological process will create the healing that heals them.
Both processes are working to create healing, but the healing that we both give, will produce a completely different healing experience for the people who receive healing from us.

A very big assumption which Paul has already answered.
Healing does not have to follow the prescribed "medical model" of how we heal.
People are free to research and choose for themselves what mode of healing and teachings they require; there are no hard and fast rules or right and wrong, just personal choices.

Everything that we DO is governed by our underlying thought patterns.... Our body responds to our thoughts, but there is a limit to what our thoughts can do - this is true on every level. There are Universal laws that apply to our body and to our world which no amount of thought alone can change. Telling someone with cancer that standing on their head in the corner will cure their cancer will not cure their cancer if they stand in the corner on their head. This is not because of limited thought patterns or beliefs it is because of the nature of the illness and what is required to cure it.

That is another area where our definition (or understanding) of what healing is differs and hence leads to confusion...
Yes, that is pretty much how I see the repair process - the healing energy (and/or healing positive thoughts and visualisations) initiate/accelerate/amplify the body's physiological healing responses.
Healing does not have to follow the prescribed "medical model" of how we heal.
Quite, but the human body has physiological repair processes that are the only mechanism for healing. Whatever method is used to activate or strengthen these processes does not override or replace these processes.
I was not saying that we should tell someone that they need to stand in the corner upon their head in order for them to become healed, I was saying that if they personally believe that they have to stand on their head in the corner in order for them to become healed, then that is their own belief which they have to fulfil in order for them to perceive that they have become healed.
Even if they were healed in another way, they would still probably go home and stand on their head in the corner and give that credence for becoming healed.
Personally, I try not to influence people in the way that they choose to perceive healing, outside of encouraging them to embrace the healing that they receive in an open and nonjudgmental way and being open to the possibility of being healed.

I see a difference between a perception of being healed and actually being healed. A therapist can convince a client that they are healed, the client may believe they are healed, but they are not actually healed and their issues are still there causing them spiritual, emotional and physical damage until such time as they do actually heal. It takes more than a change in thought patterns to heal - changing thought patterns is one aspect of a healing process, but there is more required for complete healing.

In unsubtle terms, you are talking absolute tripe. Not everyone we treat goes through a healing crisis, nor do we attempt to instill one. They happen because they that is the body's natural cleanse when something big is shifted. As mentioned by omega, THAT is a natural process. Not protesting about how you're the only therapy service who can heal 100% with no healing crisis, no matter how big a cleanse takes place.
