Wink Bell's Palsy treatment

I have a new client coming to see me with Bell's Palsy who has heard reflexology can make a difference. As yet I don't know too much about her case, but just wondered if anyone out there had treated and might have a few tips about specific reflex points. C1-7 would make sense, head, eye, general cranial reflexes. Any other thoughts?
Thanks so much

Hi Redribbon.

I know this is a reflexology question on the reflexology board, but I thought I'd let you know that I've had two clients diagnosed with Bell's Palsy and both were completely cured after massage of the head, face and neck to relieve the pressure and restriction of the 7th cranial nerve. The symptoms were completely gone the next day for the second client although with the first client it took a couple of days. There was, however, considerable improvement immediately after the massage for both of them.

I know the reasons for the symptoms of Bell's Palsy are many and this may not always help, but, if you do practice massage as well as reflexology, it might be worth adding this in to your treatment.

Hope you don't mind me suggesting this

THanks so much for that Derek. Unfortunately I don't practice massage but will work all those reflexes on the feet. This is the moment to seriously consider booking that facial reflexology training...wish it wasn't so expensive!
Anyway, helpful advice from you - grateful for it.

Hi RR

And also the reflexes of the hands with the foot work. Hands relate to the Chinese meridians (known as: Large Intestine, Small Intestine, Triple Burner) that lead up to the head. So working the hand reflexes helps work this system

Just as some advice, hope you don't mind, learning pressure point massage/therapy of the face and head is really useful for the reflexologist. It could be seen as an aspect of reflexology. Edit: just seen that you are interested in facial reflexology. If too expensive, a head and face massage with pressure points course is still useful.

Best wishes

RP

Hi Redribbon,

As well as the areas you have already highlighted I would suggest more focus on the immune system (in case it is a viral reaction ) and the endocrine system, especially the adrenals to calm and relax the person which should encourage healing.

Hope this helps.
