Default Douglas Barry Publications

Hi there, has anyone else had any dealings with this company? I ordered the Reflexology Core Curriculum from them weeks ago, I have sent several emails, messages through their website and tried phoning but it just goes straight to answer (I've left 3 messages now) getting a bit worried that I've been conned

I've never heard of them. They do not appear to be listed with Companies House as a registered company - and, yes, the telephone number does automatically go to the message machine - I don't believe their 'operators' are that busy!!! Is there any way you could stop the payment via your bank or credit card company? Have you allowed them 28 working days to despatch the item? Could it be held up with a delivery agent (I'm just trying to think of reasons why a book could be delayed!!)? Have you tried writing (not emailing) to the address that features on their website?

Hi Finnie Feet,
A few of Renee Tanners books are published by Douglas Barry , why not contact the I.F.R directly (International Federation of Reflexologists) and see if they can help you, because they do have them on the website for sale so should really be put in the picture if people are experiencing problems . Hope this helps .

Thanks for that Jabba, it is weird eh. It's been around 20 days since I placed the order - maybe I'm just being impatient, you get used to things happening quickly when you do them online. They don't have a tracking system for orders so I can't see where it's delayed.

I'll try writing to them, I paid with a credit card so should be able to cancel it no problem if I don't get a response.

Hi Lesley, just noticed your response - thank you I'll do that too.

Hi Finnie Feet,

Didn't have any trouble getting my copy, although that was a year or so ago.

Got mine from The Reflexology Forum too (on this page) - http://www.douglasbarry.com/store/ca...category_id=61

Cheers

I have had several dealings with them over the years and have always found them very helpful. One small problem with an incorrect delivery was sorted out quickly and to my complete satisfaction. As for the company registration thing, I think they are part of a larger group - might be worth checking out DBFS - Douglas Barry Financial Services.

Unhappy Douglas Barry Publications

Hi,
I'm also having problems with receiving an order I placed on 13th Oct 08, for the Core Reflexology Curriculum. I have made several calls all go straight to answer phone and I've tried at different times of day/week etc. Email is also not answered. Am going to try the IFR, but I paid by Paypal so don't know if I can recover my payment.

Frustrating isn't it!

Hi, I wish I had seen this before I placed my order on the 11 November, I have also emailed and telephoned with no joy. Is there any way to get the money back from pay pal.

No explanation or acknowledgement it was late but I picked up my copy from the Post office on Saturday. Hope everyone else got theirs as well.

I've googled them and theres no mention of them going out of business and their website is still up and running!

Hi, I ended up buying a copy of Step by Step from Waterstones. Still have not received my order via the web. I am really disappointed. I called the number in the front of the book this morning (different from the one on the website) and the gentleman assured me that he would pass the message on. It was a general reception number in an office building in Holborn, so we will see if anything happens.

Just a quick update. I never received any joy from this company and am £32 out of pocket as a result. Fortunately have finished the course, just awaiting the exam results from itec.

Default Ifr

As a fellow member, trainer and examiner of the IFR, I would like to reassure all that the IFR is a highly prolific organisation that is totally dedicated to reflexology and are a driving force within the Reflexology Forum. The majority of staff are volunteers which can occasionallly result in a delay of telephone response. Please be patient and your communication will be responded to with comittment.
Kindest Regards

Default International Federation of Reflexologists

Does anybody know how I make a complaint against the International Federation of Reflexologists?

I paid for membership a 3 months ago and was e-mailed back within hours informing me that I would get all the information in the post. I waited 3 weeks and nothing came. I phoned and left messages and e-mailed them numerous times, all with no response. I eventually got through to Emma Walsh who said that she would resolve the issue and send me my membership again. Again I waited 2 weeks but nothing arrived. By this time I didn't want anything more to do with the IFR and e-mailed Emma and the IFR asking her for a refund of 49 pounds. I have since been chasing her/them yet again to no avail - leaving messages and sending e-mails.

As a customer I expected a small degree of customer service and not be the one having to chase them. If I am not happy with their service I believe I am entitled to a refund. Does anybody know whom I can contact to make an official complaint? Or whom I can contact to just get my money back? It's not that much but it's still not an amount I can afford and the whole experience has been stressful, time-consuming and frustrating.
