I belived in life after death anyway, but going to have a one-on-one with a medium just helped to re-inforce the foundations. I had a very enlightening experience and I look forward to going to see him again.

Hi Lightwinds,

I think you have to be very careful about making a decision on whether you believe in the after life or not solely based upon a sitting with a medium. Personal experiences, listening/reading other people's stories and having an open mind all contribute.

Are you thinking of going to a medium for the first time?

I grew up with this belief system so did not need a medium to prove it.

One bad experience, I knew my father was dying and wanted to known when, so that I could prepare. The church medium then told me that my mother would die 18 months later and she never did, I did not ask about my mother so the medium should not have given this information and of course it was also incorrect.

Love beyond measure

I believe in some mediums and life after death .. but have several bad experiance .. the first was a while ago probably the second time I had been to a spiritualist church and the medium there told me my dad was upset that he had died and had unfinished business and was suck on this earth. I know that none of what she said was true but it upset me.
The second was a while ago when my nana was sick .. a medium that I know emailed me to say that I had to round up the family and get to the hospital that day as my nana was about to die and she didn't want us to miss being there. Needless to say I ignored the email and when we got to hospital my nana was doing well, she is now fully better. But it is annoying that there are people like that!

Thank yu Dr mamBo, im glad your experience was good.

pussyisum, yes i agree you can get alot of experience from all kind of spiritual experience, but just wanted to get a veiw on visteting a medium and how people felt from that experience. I was born a spiritual medium but dont do reading as such, just teach now. But have alot of friend who do, and they said some people like to know about the future, but they can only bring through spirit of loved ones or friends etc...and what ever messages given from them at the time. .and some people find it disapointing.

Kim and MC, not nice at all, it's a shame some people get bad experience from spiritual mediums, but on the whole i feel there a lot of good ones.

I remember when i used to see people and i would open up before they come and some time a family member would enter before the person got there, and would say like "she going to be late she always late". One day i was off to give a reading but felt ruff full of cold and i thought i make my excuse and do it another day.............but as i was walking the person father was talking in my ear telling....."stand up shoulders back, little cold dose not hurt anyone my dear, she looking forward to this" soon as i saw the lady.........well i did the reading. Her father was retired amy officer.

Im not saying to take a medium a 100% as to weather there life after death, but as said be open to the love and the connection of the three way link.

love and blessings

Hi Lightwinds,

as you are a medium I wondered whether you could answer a query.

In my experience, whenever I have gone to a public demonstration of mediumship whether in a Spiritualist Church or a theatre, the mediums always spend a lot of time giving messages to people who are mediums themselves.
They'll say, 'you do this sort of thing yourself don't you? ' and the recipient agrees.

Meanwhile, those of us who don't do this sort of thing ourselves don't get anything.
Has anyone else found this? It can be very frustrating![sm=banghead.gif]

As you say you don't do readings maybe you won't know the answer to this one, but I hope someone can explain it,

Hi Lightwinds , I had never met a medium untill i went to the mind body and soul fair at Olympia last week, then i saw a stall where they were giving advice and selling wooden pendulems it was called realise your own potential, and a lady dowsed me , she moved the pendulem all over my aura and asked me if i was a healer and i said i had just done my Reiki 2 but havn't actually gone out there into the world yet and healed physically, she said i had a problem in my throat area and that i should go out and heal and express myself, i was amazed , then i went to listen to a talk in one of the halls given by Richard Lawrence who was connected to this lady, he gave a talk called Secrets of the Divine Messengers and he was a medium, it was a wonderfully interesting talk only lasted three quaters of an hour though he talked about Madame Blavatsky who i recognised as there have been discussions about her on HP, and Pythagorus and a few others i had heard of and gave advice to members of the audience who asked questions, i was too shy lol, so i went up afterwards and spoke to him he was very nice and he was obviously in contact with his guide as he gave a message to me.

I personally don't believe mediumship involves predicting how and when people will die, this is not the job of a medium, it actually depends on many other factors which a medium cannot possibly analyse.

I struggle to accept that a good medium or person would wish to divulge such information in this way, even if they thought it just like that. Sometimes Dr's will give on request an estimate as to how long someone will live according to the circumstances they find at the time, even Dr's accept these can alter and they are not always right. i think such prediction is not a medium's job.

Also i think it is unkind to tell people that their deceased loved ones are unhappy, when i have seen someone from the spirit world who is sad, i try to help them. but I do not burden their family with the news, i would explain aftrewards that they are much better when they were peaceful. i see there is nothing to be gained by unnecessarily hurting people.

Hi Halimah,I agree mediums are not Gods and good medium dont say about people dieing even if they have understanding of this. connection, celebration, UNION OF LOVE.

When people pass over they still have the same personality as when they were on earth plain and when a medium and sitter are together in a one to one situation it can be a most wonderful experience for the sitter, medium and the departed soul.
