Repairing electric couches

Hi all.

My electric couch has stopped working, i think it is the foot switch and it is well beyond its warrantee.

Has this ever happened to you and were you able to fix it? Does anyone know someone I can call in the london area to come take a look and fix it

and/or

What type of tradesman would i look for this? I was thinking electrician but not sure as they would be mostly building wiring etc wouldnt they? I think a switch would be more electronics but not sure what tradesperson would cover this.

You are right in thinking that the vast majority of 'Electricians' are connected with doing the electrics in a building.

Might be worth calling one or two local electricians and asking them if they know of an electrician, or appliance repair company that have a good name regarding fixing electrical items.

Shame you're not in Hampshire else I could have popped over to have a quick look, but London is a tad far to travel to look at a job I might not be able to help with.

Are there any visible screws holding the foot switch together? If not, it might not come apart without breaking it open, which might render it completely useless.

Hopefully you will find someone who can help.
