Is this very recent news? The website is still showing future courses. Very sad if it is true.

thats 2 fairly large trainers gone in a year, with Raworth closing down last year. It is a tough climate, especially CPD training. My advice to anyone booking training courses is to pay for it all or at least £100 of it by credit card, as then at least you should be able to claim your money back.

Thats a good tip sportstherapy, i am booked on four training cpd courses for this year, definitely will remember to pay by credit card for future courses.

What a shame though for Sue Lincoln, i have heard that running cpd courses is quite tough at the moment due to the economic climate.

Default Still appear to be taking bookings

I logged on and went through booking process till point of pay (did not click final piece of transaction).

If...and I do mean if, this person has gone under the I dont feel they should be having this facility patent.

Does seem very odd the website still lets it go through. It's also very odd that the course Kevin originally mentioned doesn't seem to have been on the website recently (nothing in google cache) and looking at the Anatomy Trains UK schedule (that is at least a couple of months old, includes April and May dates, it agrees with the parent company website anatomytrains.com and 'Anatomy Trains' is a registered trade mark) there don't seem to be any hosted by Sue Lincoln. Maybe Kevin's friend meant something else?

The course was with James Earls, I think. If you click on the links for cpd it takes you to the Therapy Training Centre now.

If they are still advertising courses on their website, then your friend should demand their money back.

I do know of two schools that have gone bust, the students have lost money, and then lo and behold, the 'directors' have opened schools in different names, offering the same training. Unfortunately its quite legal to do this.

It happens a lot in all industries, but lets hope its not going to be a trend in this one.

Im not saying that this is what is happening here, as there isnt even any evidence on the website that its closed down, however, it is so important to protect your training fees, as best you can. I think there is even an insurance policy to cover you for this, from Balens. If you are spending your hard earned money on training (or anything else), make sure you can get it back if things go wrong.

There are no contact details on the site now and like I say, the cpd links take you to a different company's website.

Hi Kevin,
the link website is owned by Sue Lincoln and all contact details are on there. If I were your friend I would be making further enquiries in regards to a refund.

I have just been told that the school has moved to Scarborough, so your friend shouldnt be refused a refund, even if there is a trading name change.

Any more news on this? Ive just been on the Sue Lincoln website, and she is still running courses?

Also just heard that Paragon College has ceased trading. Some of their Directors used to run Raworth, which closed down last year, so it cant have been a good business model.

£7k for a sports therapy diploma is obviously out of the reach of most people wanting to train.

Shame really, we could do with more good sports therapy trainers, not less.

I would imagine that the all theory/no practical training providers are rubbing their hands at this. I cant imagine that they are hit to hard by the economy, the cost of a photocopier and paper will be covered and then some by course fees charged. And also a person looking to step into the industry may prefer to pay £350 rather than £7,000 and there is very little if anything to stop them from obtaining insurance to practice.
