Reading for Elizabeth
Hello Elizabeth,
Before I begin your reading, I'll explain a little about how I use the Tarot. I have always thought that Tarot cards are best used in ways which help people to shape their own destiny, I do not believe that the future is fixed or that anything is written in stone. Rather that we can all influence our future through the decisions and choices we make everyday of our lives. I believe that we always have a choice, however bleak or confusing a situation may appear to us. Ultimately that choice remains ours but the Tarot cards can offer us insights and options that we might not have considered or be aware.
Today I used my Universal Waite for your reading.
1. Where you are now ~ Hierophant (Pope)
2. What keeps you there ~ Ten of Pentacles
3. How can you move forward ~ High Priestess
Your first card Elizabeth looks at where you may find yourself now. The Hierophant is a card from the Major Arcana and as such is one that carries considerable "weight." These cards carry within them an important message and ask us to sit up and pay attention when they appear. This card suggests to me that at the present time you are very much conforming with what you believe society expects of you, what friends and family believe you should be doing and that you are very likely something of a "traditionalist?"
This is a card that sometimes comes along when we ask about marriage or partnerships of an established nature and therefore it might mean that you feel a little confined or restrained in this area of your life? Or it could just be that life in general could have become very conventional and predictable, I think I might be inclined to use the term "safe" here if that makes sense to you.
Not surprisingly the Hierophant oversees our spiritual lives and this makes me give a little thought to this area too. Perhaps a time to ask how well your own spiritual (whatever they may be) doctrines/belief/faith serves you....or do you find yourself a "servant" to them?
I’m not suggesting you abandon any belief you follow! But to perhaps ask yourself how, if you desire, you can expand upon it and grow.
The second card looks at what may keep you in your present position. The Ten of Pentacles is from the Minor Arcana, which deals with our every day affairs and the more mundane aspects of life. Again this is a card that makes me think of tradition, family values and looking after others, maybe planning for their longer term future? In some ways it has much in common with your first card as it depicts the fulfillment, contentment and secure position that a family can hopefully enjoy when good and positive family values are adhered to. Of course Elizabeth, this is something most of us desire and those of us who enjoy this status are indeed blessed. But....sometimes we can get a bit too cosy in our little family nest and the thought of leaving it to pursue other ventures and goals, can seem, well a bit daunting. This as you may have guessed can apply to groups of friends and the workplace too, so do keep this in mind.
So maybe what might hold you back at this time is that life has become too predictable and the thought of diving into the unknown, meeting new people and learning new skills seems a bit scary! Do you have dependents Elizabeth? Just something that comes to me looking at this card, there are children, dogs and a person seated, illustrated here. If so you may worry about others and forever put their needs before your own...
Your final card is another from the Major Arcana and this time we see the High Priestess.
This powerful woman whispers to you in your dreams and quiet moments, of what you are and what you may yet be.
Of course the dreams need not only refer to those that occur in your sleep, but those that you hold dear within your heart. Listening carefully and attentively to your inner voice and having the faith and motivation to act, will hopefully help to get you moving in a positive and life affirming direction. My only "concern" about this card, in this position, is that it has something of a passive quality about it. It can sometimes signify a period in our lives when rather than act, we ponder, nurture and hold close our thoughts and desires...
Very much a time to listen to your intuition, your feelings and observe quietly while deciding "what next..."
You know Elizabeth, I don’t really feel a lot of change around you right now for some reason. This does not of course mean it won’t or can’t happen, I just get the feeling that it’s not imminent. This card very much supports this as it holds within it a time of waiting and biding your time. Again, as a small "concern" I’d hope that this period does not go on for too long. But of course you may have little choice?
The High Priestess knows, she has a quiet "knowing" about her that rarely lets her down and I think this applies to you too Elizabeth.
More than a hint of psychic awareness touches you I feel and in some odd way, it’s as though you already knew what this spread would reveal...
So to sum up. I don’t pick up on a lot of movement for you, just now. Even if physical changes were to be in the offering, there seems to be something or someone that ties you to them. Not necessarily in a bad way, but there might be an element of "doing what is right" and expected. If change is what you really desire, strive to look within and also beyond the obvious, don’t neglect your inner life, but also explore the world without too
I’ll end your Tarot reading by wishing you well Elizabeth and hoping that you find something useful within it. It would be lovely if you could let me know that you have read this, but please don't feel obliged to leave feedback if you don't wish to.
Wishing you love, luck and happiness,
Sincerely
Barbara x
