Default Bach Flower Remedies Distance Learning

hello everyone!

just wondered if anyone here has done, or knows someone who has done the Level 1 of the Bach Flower Remedies course? I'm only intending on doing the first level as it can be done by distance learning and have already got the workbooks required.

But it is fairly expensive and i'd be interested to know peoples views?

I'm not planning on becoming a practitioner, i'm just at the early stages of learning and have already read a lot about natural remedies with horses as this is my main interest. But i also use Rescue Remedy on myself a lot too!

Thanks in advance for any info

Shaya xx

I haven't done this by distance, have done level 1 and 2 workshops though. Met people on level 2 who had done 1 via distance with Bach Centre and they said they enjoyed it.

Sorry can't be of more help
Good luck.

Here is my point of view but read it keeping in mind I do not have study with the Bach center ( for a long list of reasons, the first one was I didn't want).

BUT...fews years ago, as I was a total beginer in Bach flower remedies I went on a web site.
For Bach flower remedies background I only have the fews books I have read.I would have said it was small knowledge.
On this web site I meet a lot of nice people and we exchange a lot.
I was coming there to learn from the others as I have a lot of questions...
In fact it happen I wasn't the one with the most questions.
One with the most question was a former student of the Bach center.
She didn't stop to the first level. No she follows the whole formation and was an accredited practitionner from the Bach center.
And what was astonsihing was despite I poor level and my total abscence of qualification, she spent time asking me advice...even for her own practice.
For this time I could help but thinking you can learn much more by yourself and save the money of this quite expensive formation.

The strengh of the Bach flower remedies is their accessibility.
Thats what Edward bach wanted and find.
So if it's only for you and if you do not need the diploma for professionnal use, I would said spare time and money.

For the cost of this formation you may be able to buy so valuable books.

If you are interested in horses, there is one...written by a practitionner of the Bach center
I have offered it to my aunt but she never give me feedback on it so I can only tell you you can find this book but have no clue if it can be a valuable book.
I forget the tiitle but find an other will looking on internet..Bach remedies for horses and riders.

Hi Lobellia (and Shaya),
You are so right you can learn so much from reading yourself and actually using the flower remedies, which after all is what it is all about
I have practically every book available on the subject and dip in and out of them all the time, as I always say, we never stop learning.

I do however think that for many people a litle structured learning is a very good thing and I can't say a bad word about Bach Education, both courses I attended were well run, informative, great tutors and I got so much out of face to face interaction. Actually talking to fellow students.

Of course Shaya would not acess this if doing it by correspondence or simply reading. So Shaya, I'd suggest you have a look in your Yellow Pages and see if you have a Bach Practitioner that offers level one locally. If they don't they might still do an introductory course or talk, quite a few do

The very best of luck whatever you decide. I'm always happy to talk Bach Remedies here

Thanks very much for your replies, i do appreciate all points of view! I've not paid for the course yet and did look to see if there were any courses in my area but no which is why i was thinking about distance learning. I've been quite poorly so actually getting out to a workshop maybe too much for me, however i will look in Yellow Pages to see if there are any local practitioners, thanks for that info. Barbara!

Also Lobellia, i do have the Bach Flower Remedies book for Horses and Riders thanks! Buying that was one of the reasons i thought about doing the course and as Barbara says, i am one of those people who functions better with structured learning, even if it is distance learning!

Hmm, it's all very interesting and i'm just at the beginning of my learning and open to as much information as possible so i really do appreciate you both taking the time to offer me your opinions

I'll let you know if and when i decide to begin the course, as i may well be needed some help and advice too !!!

Dear Shaya,

If you want help or advice with your courses when you will have choose one please do not hesitated. And if, previoulsy registering you have any question(s) you will be more than welcome to ask also

As you are thinking about distance learning I could have told you about a distance learning school in Bach flower remedies.
It's a free one which could be great considering your financial situation unfornuatly to access the courses you have to be quite fluent in french. That leave you with the paying option but you will find easilly something to suits your needs.
Sometimes there is even a possibility of paying in several time.

Have you think about the natural Healt courses?
They do the Bach course for a very reasonable amount.Chech the sponsor Adds on healthy pages.
The level is quite good ..Really good in fact and I would considering your requirments. It would give you all the knowledge you need to be and feel confortable to use the bach remedies.

About the other books with remedies for Horses I find it again quitre easyly on the Bach center listing.
As it's a book writen by one of their practitionner if you are not able to find it anywhere you always can buy it from them.

Here is the book:

Emotional Healing for Horses and Ponies
by
Stefan Ball, Heather Simpson and Judy Howard

If you buy and use it I would be more than happy to have your thoughts about it especially as you have read and use the other one.
I very much would like to know if both books are similars or complete each others.

If you are looking for a list of reference books you can find at least 2:
1- the Bach flower reseach program http://www.edwardbach.org/research/booksHome.asp
or
2 the one from the Bach center
http://www.bachcentre.com/centre/books.htm

Enjoy your studies

I did level1 distance learning through the Bach foundation at the start of the year,is cost about £180including the books, there are 5 lessons you are sent them one at a time. You complete a lesson then send it back for marking ,the next lesson is then sent to you with your marked work.
I am a real impatients type and it drove me mad waiting for the next lesson to come through , my tutor quickly realized this and sent my lesson through much more quickly.
I now have a good basic knowlege of what each remedy is for, I will hopefully do level 2 in september as there is a local lady who teaches all levels. I would love to go on to the practicioners level but the cost may be prohibitive so I will have to wait and see.
The other good thing about distance learnignis you can go at your own pace as there is no time limit, there is tutor supprt for any queries you migt have.I liked the thought of learnig the remedies the way Dr Bach intended try www.bachcentre.com for all the info.
Good Luck
The good thing about distance learning is that you can go on and do level2 straight away with the workshops you normally have to wait about 6 montshs before you can do the next level.
I did enjoy the distance learning and would recommend it as i happily can give remedies to friends and family knowing what I have chosen for them will help

That's brilliant to hear trinabb! I think the course now costs £188 but i've got both course books off Amazon for a lot less which i suppose helps to balance it out! I too was particularly interested in the distance learning aspect precisely because you can do it at your own speed. I have RSI and also get anxious with deadlines so this did seem like the best route to go down for me. Now i've read about your experiences, i'm even more excited and keen to get started Will have to wait a week or so though as i'm off for a weeks holiday to a caravan by the sea....can't wait for that...then as soon as i return i'll apply for my first lesson, yay THanks again
xx

Quick update...completed the first lesson and am really enjoying it....it's wonderful to have a subject to really 'get my teeth into' as it were. Plus i've already been able to suggest remedies for my partner and also for a friend who is nervous about singing in public recitals. So, it's given me lots of confidence already and i'm looking forward to my next lesson...hurry up mentor, i want to learn more!!!

LOL! Thanks Have almost finished my second lesson now, am finding it harder in the sense that i have to relate remedies to points in my life when i needed them and with remedies like Vine that's quite difficult and also just getting my head around subtle differences between remedies is a challenge but otherwise it seems to be going well and i'm enjoying stretching my brain! My mentor seems really nice too and wrote me a lovely letter. So far so good
