New Flat! Advice needed

Hello everyone!

This is a big 'ask' but I'm going to be moving into a new flat next weekend and could do with some advice on where to place furniture etc. Have looked at a fair few books but am pretty bamboozled by it all I'm afraid! But this opportunity to have a 'blank canvas' on which to work is tempting.

The flat is rented so I'm limited with what I can do. The doorway to the street faces South East, the door to my flat faces North East. I have two windows both facing North West.

Any tips on where to start! it all looks mighty complicated in the books

Congrats on your flat.

In classical Feng Shui, furniture placement is secondary. It is your environment and your unit within the block that determines the quality of the qi. The effects of the qi on the occupants can then be analysed for the year(s) ahead.

A good practitioner will be able to assess what qi influences are favourable for your goals and WHEN. Classical Feng Shui can be like astrology for the house. Knowing how the energies affect your building along with the timing, means you can take advantage of positive periods and lay low during negative times.

A practitioner can usually predict what challenges you could face in which months so you can strategise for the year ahead.

Hope you are making your new flat, "home".

With regards to Feng Shui, there are 2 baguas (floor plans of the house used in Feng Shui), Compass as it suggests, uses compass points and 3 Door Gate, uses the front door. When I arrive at a property, I will dowse for which method to use.

Using the Compass Bagua, your Flat front door (North East) is in the Quiet Contemplation area which is an earth element so your door should be painted: yellow, brown, peach or terrocota or bring in the supporting element (Fire) and paint your door red.

In Form School Feng Shui, it is ideal to have buildings or trees behind you (Black Turtle) this is your mountain of protection, either side buildings West - White Tiger, East - Green Dragon and the road should be at the front of the property (South - Red Phoenix).

I would suggest a full Feng Shui Home Consultation as this would also include testing of Geopathic Stress, Electromagnetic Fields and Microwaves as well as your 9 Star Ki (Feng Shui Astrology) for the adult occupants including a Compatibility Report if required. Depending on the energy in your flat, you may also want to consider Space Clearing.
