Hello everyone

I recently bought a piece of moonstone (feldspar) because my partners Mum passed away a couple of weeks ago and ignorantly took it home without a single thought as to what I might be letting myself in for.

That same evening I put it by my bed before going to sleep but this is where things get a bit spooky. Within half an hour of falling into a very light sleep (very unusual for me as normally as soon as my head hits that pillow i'm gone) I came to and felt like something had its arm around my waist as if it were cuddling up to me. My girlfriend was on the other side and my arm was resting on her leg with me laying on my side away from whatever it was. I pulled my arm off her leg and tried to elbow very hard whatever was laying behind me but obviously hit thin air, i then came too, woke my partner up, told her what just happened and then got up and moved the moonstone out into the hallway because quite frankly that was enough for me.

After that I went back to sleep and that was that but unfortunatley it wasn't the end of strange going's on and even though I packed the crystal/stone away deep in my cupboard two nights later a similar thing happened, i fell into another light sleep and this time came what can only be described as a very cold spot on the top of my hand which felt like a finger resting point down or maybe something trying to get my attention which certainly did, this time though I came around but was unable to wake properly and then my ears started tensing and all of a sudden it sounded like I was hearing lots of whispering (as clear as day) except I was unable to make out anything spoken.

Last night when I went to bed (all in the same week) when I was drifting off I turned over (facing the edge of my bed and this time it was whispering again and it felt like something was kneeling down in front of me (freaky) so I woke myself up and laid there for a minute before drifting off into a proper sleep and then made it through the whole night.

I am unable to make my mind up as to what is going on but all I can say is that none of this started until I bought the moonstone, deep sleeping is something that has always come easily to me, its very rare that I will experience a light sleep/waking state, maybe once a few years or something so this is very difficult to work out.

I'm trying to be logical about it but this is way to coincidental for my liking and it seems to be becoming routine now and its getting to the point where i'm afraid to go to bed in case it starts all over again. It doesn't happen during the day and at night it only happens when i've litterly just nodded off to sleep, within what seems like 20 to 30 minutes and as soon as i wake up and fall back to sleep it all seems to be over.

I would really appreciate any advice from any perspective being science, spiritual or psychological so that I can try and figure whats happening to me.

If it does turn out to be a spirit or two that have somehow gained access to my pyche how can I put a stop to it as I dont like it and just want to get back to sleeping normally.

Hi, I went to a fascinating talk the other day on the Schumann resonance, which led me to wonder whether using music based on this (there's quite a lot downloadable from Amazon) would help people relax during holistic therapy sessions and would facilitate healing to take place.
One possible downside is that the sound could sound a bit odd/repetitive to people who didn't know what it was. I just wondered if anyone had tried this, and whether you'd noticed any effects/reactions (good or bad) as compared with normal relaxing-type background music.

Thanks a lot

Hi, I've always done IHM with the client seated so far, but have just acquired a couch and was wondering how feasible it would be to use this for IHM. Does anyone do this? If so, do you ask the client to turn over when it comes to the face part of the routine? And where do you stand? (I'm thinking that you usually stand right behind the client, when they're seated, but you would be off to one side if using a couch - and so would have to reach over, which could be uncomfy for therapist; or else you would be at the head end and then you'd be doing everything upside down!).

Thanks a lot for any advice/guidance you can give.

Itchy pruritis vulvae

I have an embarrassing problem with chronic vulval itching. It has always been quite itchy and very sensitive but in the last 3 years it has gotten a lot worse. It affects my outer labia and is paler than the rest of the skin. I was prescribed 1% hydrocortisone cream at first but it didn't help much, flaring up even worse and seemed that my skin is now thinner and bleeds when I scratch it. It now looks very pale and paper-thin like, with fissures and splits :(
I am sensitive to any soap or wash, even cotton knickers, I have tried using everything like E45, washing with emollients, Emu Oil..Washing with ice cold water only relieves it until I've dried off and then later in the day it starts itching again.

In 2010 I had a biopsy thinking I had Lichen Sclerosis, but the Dermtologist sent a letter to my GP saying they did not find anything. I didn't hear anything else and was not offered a follow up appointment. I left it at that but it has since worsened. It flares up at night, and in the afternoon even though I wash down there twice a day. I use a vulval wash from Boots which has been good but think I've become sensitive to that as well!

I am not sexually active so don't know if it has affected me inside the vagina, but my last 2 smear tests have been very painful! I don't know if it is because my vagina has narrowed or the nurse was too harsh.

Today I went back to the GP to ask for another referral, and he is now chasing that up. He prescribed me Trimovate steroid cream. I am wary of using steroid creams for all the potential side-effects and thinning of the skin, however this seems to be all that the NHS can prescribe. I started using it and will wait and see, nothing else was working so I thought I'd try the conventional treatments.

I would still rather treat it naturally as possible, any advice?

I thought it might be diet, and I eat a lot of sugar and wheat. I also have Polycystic Ovaries but don't think it has anything to do with it.

Would love to hear if anyone can relate, or your tips on coping without steroids.

I am looking for advice on improving my profile and client base, particularly following some stories in the press, ie John Travolta and someone booked by Paul Mcartney. At the moment I ask clients if they would be kind enough to provide feedback to my page on this site.
Any other ideas of where i can advertise and how to spread my name would be gratefully received.

HI

Im not even sure if this is in the right forum so please move (sorry there is just so many now!).

This is just a general discussion/question that I have been thinking about a lot recently.

How do people remain and stay positive when things just dont go their way? I know not everything works out but why is it that good things happen to bad people and bad things happen to good people?

How do people get back on track? I know happiness comes from within (blah blah blah) but there are times when I just get hacked off and think how come it works out for a certain person when they are not even nice! I know we should all appreciate what we have but what if it comes alarmingly obvious its just not enough? What if all your hard work is just never enough or what if you just cant change the situation at the present time?

I try to be grateful for what I got but sometimes you get sick of just managing or getting on by. Have you ever looked at your friends and been happy for them but think why cant that happen for me. Why is my life such a struggle?

I dont want to sound completely negative as I know the grass is not always greener but sometimes I just wonder when it will all end and the good times start again or does my negative vibe just attract negative things?

Hi, I'm a holistic rather than beauty therapist but have a nail-related question, if that's OK. It's something I've been asked to find out for a local cancer charity that I volunteer for.
The charity would like to run a stall at school fairs etc. just applying nail varnish/art (stick-on sequins etc, I think they mean) without any other parts of manicure (i.e. no cutting, filing, cuticles etc). Do you think it is OK (or not) for someone to offer this without being qualified in manicure?
I have so far advised them they should check the charity's insurance policy, but I would be really grateful for your views too.
Recently I've been trying to get a handle on card reading, crystal ball etc. Wikipedia suggests something like the following: “Tarot reading revolves around the belief that the cards can be used to gain insight into the past, current and possible future situations of the enquirer. Some believe they are guided by a spiritual force, while others believe the cards help them tap into a collective unconscious or their own creative, brainstorming subconscious.” I'd guess there'll be something similar for other forms of reading.

I'm not interested in the mechanism of readings but I'd like to hear what practitioners feel they are doing, the source of any information acquired. I'd also like to hear what enquirers felt about the readings they've had and where they thought any information came from. Additionally I'd like to learn what benefit practitioners feel they are providing and what recipients feel they received.
