Hi William

Good on you for going on youtube and giving EFT a go. EFT is nothing to be afraid of, it's just helping to shift stuck energies. So when you start to feel the panic, you could try to tap on that as well and see what happens. 'Even though I feel panic right now....' I was taught to not stop tapping when I felt an emotion I perceived as 'bad'... tap through it and keep on tapping and this will help the energies move.

It helps me to sit quietly and welcome in the 'emotion', say 'yes' to it, rather than resist and fight it and label it 'bad'. For more information Jnani is a wonderful source of wisdom (you can pay me later Ruby ) or google quantum release and Ann Ross has really helped me with anxiety.

Well done and keep going, such an exciting journey.

I would suggest that you see a practitioner to help you get the basics down. Then move onto self support.

I found: The Tapping Solution: EFT Documentary Film | Home useful. I received the ebook and it has some useful information, but this is a layperson here. I'm not qualified though would love to be one day.

Hi William,

Depending on what is going on for you, it may or may not be a good idea to use EFT for yourself without external support. In general, it is a fantastic tool for self-help and I teach it to all of my clients so that they could use it independently, outside of our sessions. However, some people can get easily overwhelmed when they begin to tap, as EFT tends to bring a lot of "stuff" up too the surface, and in some circumstances it can feel too much to deal with on your own.

Whilst I agree with Vanessa that the general advice is to keep tapping through the feelings as they intensify (and they can intensify during tapping), if you are unable to get the level of intensity down within a few minutes, if you feel overwhelmed or unsafe, it may be better if you do some work with a qualified practitioner.

Best of luck

Masha

Hi William

Sometimes I try this.... I close my eyes and sit quietly, and I visit a place where I feel safe and peaceful (for me it's a bench on the cliffs over looking the beautiful Cardigan Bay). I sit and ask for help/guidance/assistance with whatever I am struggling with. Quite often 'someone' (could be anyone from family, friends, colleagues, gurus, Jesus, those that have passed etc) will come and sit with me and will talk or listen and provide some insight or clarity. Whether this represents my 'higher self', intuition, God, the Divine, angels whatever etc, it does not matter. It's a time for my mind to quieten and access a deeper understanding.

This may help you decide where to go next... EFT? Practioner? Course? Something else? There is so much help and support out there, as Masha and Meadowsweet so wisely suggested. Still that whirring mind enough to see what you are drawn to. xxx
