Default EFT info needed?

hi guys, just been reading some posts about eft and want to know are there any specific ways you have to do it, or just tap the points on the face? i hear people say things like give feelings a colour or texture. what does this mean??

Hi Jocky, whilst the basics of EFT are relatively simple to learn, it isn't just about tapping on the acupressure points, as it has a significant psychological component.

Very briefly, you need to focus on the specific problem which is bothering you, rate the intensity 1-10, use a concise but accurate phrase to describe what you are experiencing - this could be an unpleasant physical sensation, an emotion about something (include a brief description of the "something" into the phrase), a worrying/disturbing thought, an external trigger (something you see, hear or sense that triggers the intense response). You would normally say this phrase out loud at each tapping point, and after each round of EFT (a "round" is a set of all standard points) adjust the phrasing to describe what you are experiencing RIGHT NOW (which could be a little or very different from your starting phrase).

There are additional parts of the procedure, like the Set-up at the beginning, which you will need to consider, but best to read up some information on it in more detail. You can download a free manual from www.eftuniverse.com, another good source of information is www.eftfree.net

Not everyone can connect to colour, texture, etc. I think the best way, especially if you are new to EFT, is to find an event to tap on. This event will encapsulate all the feelings you need to tap for. When you are more experienced, then you can play with colour, texture, where it is in your body, etc, and see what works best for you. But you do not even ever have to do that. Just tapping for events works beautifully for almost everyone. You can download a free guide from many online resources and learn more to help you self-tap.

Jocky posted in April, but it is still a valid question for anyone.

Colours and textures are more associated with Emotrance - which is another helpful tool - but to follow Masha's suggestions for EFT is perfectly adequate.
