No need for testing all he has to do his stop eating all milk/dairy products for about eight to ten weeks. It's hard to do as dairy products are in lots of things, I did this back in the 1980's, as I had cronic hayfeaver/sinusitis.
Fingers crossed there should be an improvement within about 4 weeks, but it can be really painful, as the sinus's have been overworking for years. After about 10 weeks start to introduce one dairy product at a time, in the first week butter, second week one make of cheese, next milk. But only a little each day. If it was the dairy, all of a sudden his body will start producing mucus. All in all he'll eventually work out what is causing the problem and then avoid them!
I do have the odd cheese sandwhich or pizza, but if I have too many dairy items close together, I get a runny nose! So I stop. I've not drunk milk for years.
My GP at the time suggested that I try this and I havent looked back. But I suggest he visits his GP first as I had to have antibiotics/pain killers as it was very painful at times.
As for ear candling I do mine once every three/four months. Again he should visit the GP as I know someone who did theirs regularly for a few weeks as they had an ear problem only to find out that they had an abcess! Which took a lot of medical intervention too sort out.
I'm very concerned that people stick things in their ears without having someone 'looking' inside first to see if there is a healthy ear canal or not.
As for going deaf, I've lost the 'soft' notes, if people talk quietly or look away from me I have no idea what is going on. I went for a 'free' hearing test at Boots a few years ago and again this year, and the detoriation was very noticable. Plus I'm fairly 'young' to have this deafness but my familly have a history of deafness so it is genetic. I'm going down the hearing aid route.
Keep us posted on how he does.
