It would also depend on when their hayfever season starts! Everyone is allergic to different things so you need to know what people have an allergy too and when they generally start getting symptoms. I have problems with tree pollen / blossom so spring is worst for me but other people may have problems with grass pollen or hay/straw and won't be affected to later on in the year. I would definitly say start the ear cancdling before their hayfever season starts. I'd also recommend using a netipot, steam inhalations, and taking a spoonful of local honey everyday to help. Again these can be started before hayfever kicks in.
