Default Demonstrations of Ear Candling at Fairs

Hello,

I've been wondering about this for a while.

I know at fairs/shows/events that you can have taster sessions of treatments, but how would you go about doing a taster session for ear candling?
Just one ear - which ear, both ears,
whole treatment, half a treatment?

LOL

I have often thought about this, but there is no way round it other than giving a full treatment.

At fairs I always do tasters of other treatments, but take my leaflets about ear candling with, plus a pair of candles to show people.

At the clinic where I used to work, we did have an open day and I gave a demonstration of the treatment at a pre-arranged time. I used a volunteer and had a large group of people watching and talked the treatment through, so I wasn't really able to charge for this.

*nod* Agree totally, you cannot do just one ear as you may upset the bodys balance.. literally! It's the same with reflexology, you would never do one foot for a taster, but you might just do a foot massage or walk the zones.. another problem with that is that you can't get away with doing a short consultation, like you would with ihm or reflex. I would feel the need to do the full treatment, full consultation, just to be sure.. this means your treatments would be quite pricey - but doesn't mean you wont have a lot of success at the show, cause it's so unusual people seem to always queue.

Hmmm, as I thought.

Thanks for the feedback.

I suppose the best way to do it is a demonstration at a fair.

Shame we don't have many/any? fairs up here.

LOL

Don't any of your local schools have ladies' indulgence evenings? Seem to be all the rage around here.

If they do I'm missing them. I did drop in some gift vouchers for Xmas raffles at the 2 local primarys that I still have contact with and haven't heard anything -

Maybe ladies indulgence evenings haven't travelled that far north yet - though I do actually have a few thoughts mulling over - thanks Lesley

Hi froggy,

Well, you'll at least need to get your money back on the candles, so if your purpose for doing the taster evening is to try and gain future clients, then just do enough to cover your costs.

You do have to remember of course, that some people are sneaky in arranging a "pamper party" or suchlike with their friends in order to get some professional to come and give them treatements at a reduced cost rather than paying full price for their own treatment. So, balance your "costs" with the potential loss of not getting any clients from it. i.e. rather than just covering the physical costs of materials and travel etc. add a little amount to cover your time as well and spread that over the number of treatments.

All Love and Reiki Hugs
