Diverticulitis

Good Morning to you all from a very hot Istanbul !

My elderly aunt has just come out of hospital after being diagnosed with Diverticulitis.

I would be so grateful if anyone could recommend a good Nutritionist in the Edinburgh area or foods that are suitable for people on Warfarin ?

The hospital provided her with basic dietary advice but she is totally confused as nearly all the foods on the sheet are forbidden as she is on Warfarin.

I would really appreciate any answers.

Hi Elaine (it's a bit cooler here!)

I can't advise in this case over the internet.

May I suggest she contacts one of these practitioners. They may do home visits if she has just come out of hospital. Pity the hospital dietitians didn't help her adequately, but as so often the case, the medical system compartmentalises the body and the result is that the advice is not joined up!

Although it is tricky getting diet sorted in this situation there are ways of doing so. Hope she feels better soon.
