Default Aqua Detox

Does anyone have any experience of the Aqua Detox system? I have noticed some holistic therapists use it but Ihave read conflicting information on whether it works. Just wondered if anyone does actually use it alongside reflexology or have had a treatment themselves? Sx

Hi
I am reflexologist and I have got it. Just this weekend gone, I went and done my course with lady that actually worked with the doctor that designed the Aqua detox and they have some amazing stories to tell. People get confused about the water changing colour without anybody in it: the reason is there is reaction between the array and the saline solution, which will a light orange/yellow to the water. Thisis natural occurrence and is the sodium being drawn out of the salt by the current.
It does work but I think you should try it out your self and make your own mind up .

I think it works too. I first tried it at my friend's spa and I had a humdinger of a hangover!!! After the treatment I felt much better (not 100%).

We got one in work, but found that people had it as a one-off so couldn 't monitor the effects of it in much detail.

If I could get one cheaply I would have one in my clinic, but am not going to pay the prices for something that I know wouldn't be used very much.

I'm not really familiar with it myself so cannot comment, but did a bit of a search on the internet after I read this post to see if it might be of interest. I did find the following interesting and thought provoking.....

This subject has been discussed at length on this site lots of times - put Aqua Detox in to the Search All Forums box (top left of page) and you will see what has been said before! (Personally, I would rather give my feet a soak in a normal foot bath.)

Enough said!! I have even been told by a therapist that does these treatments that its a load of rubbish. People think that because they charge a fortune, it must be good. However, they charge a fortune as the spare arrays cost a fortune. It's not coz it works.

This is my opinion anyway!

Hi ya

I have put a post elsewhere on HP about Aqua Detox. I had one once and it was tingley and pleasant (the treatment was offered free). But if I was going to pay the typical £30 for a 30 minute session, I would have a proper Reflexology treatment, at a similar price at 60 minutes per session.

When I saw the discolouration of the water and smelt it, it smelt like an oxidisation, i.e. rust.

Any stimulation of the feet will make you feel good. My issue with Aqua Detox is that it is expensive for what it is, a plastic footbath, electrode and a digital regulator/timing circuit*, and some of the therapeutic claims are quite frankly mumbo jumbo (but you could say that about Reiki).

Cheers

Reiki Pixie being cheeky again (but means it)

* Personal opinion based on my previous career as a radio & electronics technician involved in the maintainance and repair of communications equipment.

Glad the CH industry is starting to get a bit more skeptical about some of the junk that is being peddled.

Like RP says it is oxidisation of the equipment.

A glorified foot spa.
