(Video) What Happened to Chernobyl Children 7 Years after the Accident (from a Japanese TV program in 1993)

When it was someone else's problem (Chernobyl), Japan was telling the truth about the effect of radiation, particularly on children

Yes, things are deteriorating at the reactors as I write this. Reactor 1 is at this moment looking extremely unstable, so watch this space..................

Leaking pipes? The possibility (probability?) was mentioned months ago, wasn't it. And some large waves are now being seen lapping shore-side - have they been putting stuff in the ocean very nearby which may be affecting the seabed, or is perhaps the melted corium reaching the ocean?

Mmmmn, cold shutdown? I don't THINK so. Such lies, deception and disregard for human life is going on over there. And the silence from Tepco is deafening .............lol.

Member of Japan Parliament: I now believe Tepco was trying to hide radiation levels measured after quake — People in Japan deceived (VIDEO)

Emergency mail from Tepco
Quote:
1/31/2012, 10:30PM, Tepco employee found water leakage from the test line of jet pump calculation rack located on the first floor of reactor 4.
10:43 PM, they stopped it by turning off the tap connected to the rack. The floor is full of the debris. As long as they confirmed, more than 6L of water leaked. None of it leaked to the outside of the reactor building.
From the result of the measurement, it was contaminated as 35.5 Bq/cm3 (= 35,500 Bq/L), they assume the water is from the well of the reactor. (Cf. The measurement data of the well of reactor was 39 Bq/cm3 on 12/8/2012.)
They are going to explain it on the press conference of 2/1/2012 11:00AM.
Tepco has been ignoring the risk of frozen pipes

Report: ‘Empty’ Reactor No. 4 was actually filled with nuclear fuel — Only a matter of time before melt-out

Fukushima hit by Magnitude 4.8 quake

If another earthquake hits it, it’s over.
Technically speaking, if it goes melt-out, it would flow to the sea.
Pacific ocean side of Japan and west side of America won’t be inhabitable anymore.

Interesting news from Fukushima Diary:
Actual Fukushima worker suspects an explosion caused 8.5t of water leakage

There is new MOX in SFP of reactor 3

There is no space to move spent fuel from reactor4, and it’s better than other ones.”

301,750,000 Bq leaked from reactor 4

NHK: Gov’t now inspecting Fukushima “to see if it can safely remain in a state of cold shutdown” (VIDEO)
Safety checks to begin at Fukushima Daiichi plant
Quote:
Japan's nuclear safety agency will begin inspecting the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant from Monday to see if it can safely remain in a state of cold shutdown.

Officials from the Nuclear and Industrial Safety Agency plan to check equipment and contingency preparations by examining manuals and interviewing workers during their three-week inspections.

Among the seven types of equipment to be checked is a reactor cooling system that recycles decontaminated water from the facility.

Another is a nitrogen-injection system to prevent hydrogen explosions within the disabled reactors.
It never really was in a state of cold shutdown so it will be interesting to see what these officials come up with.
