A young doctor seems to have started a petition to 10 Downing Street,
about the plight of 30,000 junior Doctors in the NHS.
It has had some support.

Very good, however it's is all over for the NHS, I know I have worked in it for the last 15 years, a lot of Trust's are getting rid of good people and then employing outside consultants on £500 plus a day and the £ wasting IT systems that dont work properly are truly amazing, while to staff can go to hell, sorry rant over!!

Yep, been a worker in the NHS for over 30yrs and it is scary how little it has to do with PEOPLE now. Everyone is sick and tired of what keeps coming down from the Govt and the constant changes that are never given time to work before the knee jerk reaction of something else being put in place. As already been mentioned so many good staff are leaving in their droves or going off sick with stress.

Although neither of these wastes of money is exactly current, they're very recent ...

1. The survey that was sent out by snail mail:

Five million of these thingswere sent out by random selection, and there were to be reminders. How much paper and postage is that? Is it really worth it to find out ifsomeone can get an appointment to see their GP the same day/next day/within 2 days?

2. The perfectly revolting series of adverts on TV and in magazines designed to get people to stop smoking:

Apparently the NHS sacked the advertising agency they'd been using for 20 years, and took on this new firm, the subject of complaints about their very first campaign. Wonder what the NHS think of their decision now!
