With moldavite it can be difficult to tell, so buying from a reputable supplier is always best.
There are fakes around, including those that claim to be White Moldavite (there's no such thing really, as this is actually Elestial Calcite). It is made to have the appearance of moldavite by a process of acid etching, so effectively taking something that a lot cheaper and using acid to make it look like something that is more expensive. Also, bear in mind that if it seems like it was a bargain for moldavite compared to other sites, there's also less chance of it being genuine.
I'm fortunate that I know a good rock and crystal specialist shop and the owners, and they can examine such samples and tell if it's been etched or not. I did obtain a piece of "white moldavite" myself and they examined it under a lens and could see that it was elestial calcite that had been etched. And I know energetically it didn't have the same energy as my moldavite.
If you can find an expert to check it over for you that would be best... if not, you'll have to hope (unless you can tell from it's energy) that it's not just some etched green glass.
Looking at the website (I think you meant crystalshop.co.uk) the price of their moldavite would suggest it's in the genuine price bracket for the sizes they're selling. Looking at their images, they all look nice and genuine, but the fakers are getting good at it too.
I know if I held it myself, I'd be able to tell from the energy, as moldavite is one of those with the energy that can almost knock me over. hehe!
Can you tell me a legit website??and ye , i meant crystalshop.co.uk, that one was 23 pounds, unfortunatly i dont know any good shops or guys to tell me if its legit thats why i looked for a forum and here we are ;D
Well the guys I use (who also attend a lot of crystal fairs) own a lapidary shop in Burslem, Stoke on Trent...
I don't think they actually have a website (I think they do good enough business without), but their address and number are listed if you search for them...
I have a lovely piece of Moldavite which is caged silver to make it a pendant. I will get a picture and upload it for you to see what it looks like to give you ideas on how a jeweller could set it for you.
Hi,
My advice to find out if the piece is genuine moldavite or green glass is to hold, feel its energy. Moldavite is a very powerful stone and you will feel it resonate. If it doesn't then it's not genuine.
Cheers guys , il try to check out that place in London.
By the way ,il put here few more pics just in case..
I am kind of new with the crystals, and i was doin my research and i found out the moldavite really really interesting so i got my self a specimen. The thing is does EVERYONE can feel the moldavite flush and the energy the first time or theres some kind of conditions like being calm or focused etc.. because i think sometimes i can feel it but maybe is just me imagining or wanting to feel it really badly
When I bought my piece of Moldavite, I felt its energy. With moldavite it enhances my own emotion but also makes me more sensitive to the emotions of those around me.
Anyway here is a pic of my lovely Moldvite necklace.

Not advice for anyone who practices shamanism to follow - green glass has no more and no less a powerful spirit than moldavite.

John, for future reference, if you're going to attach large images please can you go to the advanced editor and use the paperclip to attach them as files rather than using the image icon which shows the images inline in your post, as the large pictures distort the forum and make it difficult to read and use.

Ta.
Oh thanks for that , i will next time
So back to the qs, can anyone feel the moldavite even tho they dont really know much about vibes, energy or crystals?
can anyone feel the moldavite even tho they dont really know much about vibes, energy or crystals?
Knowing about 'vibes, energy or crystals' won't affect your ability, or lack of it, to feel moldavite (or anything else). No, not everyone can feel, but many people can be taught to. Also, there are other ways of communicating with the spirit of moldavite (or a half-brick).
Any where you guyss recomend read to be taught how to feel them?
I would recommend shamanism (but that's what I do, continually) - however, if all you want to do is feel energy/ communicate with crystals there are probably easier ways that will require less committment.
Just sit and meditate with it. Start by using your senses i.e. look at it closely, feel it with your fingertips (you could even see if it smells of anything, wouldn't advise tasting it though )
Make notes of anything you experience, then just sit quietly with it, eyes closed either with it in your hand or maybe on your Third Eye and just relax, see what happens. Maybe nothing will happen, maybe plenty will happen - just go with the flow.
There are guided visualisations you can do where you visualise the stone growing to the size of a house and you can enter into it and maybe meet the 'deva' or 'spirit' of the stone.
Just do what feels right for you and don't get hung up and whether you should or shouldn't feel anything
I just posted a piece about green tea, in the Allergies Forum. I don't think I mentioned shamanism once in it!
Good for you, Crowan!
But (sniff), it's the spirits of the tea leaves I feel sorry for... what happens to them when the leaves are being submerged in boiling (almost water).... is it painful?
...I'm not sure if I want to know....
And, another thing:

...this half-brick that will do the same job as a crystal - when the brick was split in two, does this mean that the spirit of the brick is only half of the whole spirit, or are they both separate, individuated spirits in their own right?
One more thing - do you think it's possible for the 'unhappy' spirit of an over-ripe avocado (had to be binned, sadly) to be haunting my fridge? There's a funny smell in ther, and I can't work out where it's coming from!?
...only partly joking, with these questions....hmn
