Sorry to rain on your parade, but I thought it was just a really sad thing to see....hewn out of the rock, her natural place, torn from her friends....and then gawped at by tourists all day long...how tiring for her spirit..how sad.

I looked at it and felt like I could almost hear the screaming....

If you follow the original link, and read the info, you can find out quite a lot about the geode and how she was lifted into place with the use of two cranes as she weighs rather a lot....it is all there.

Unspeakable damage is done to the earth through mining and quarrying. We are none of us...no matter how lightly we live on the planet.....innocent of the accusation of earth rape. It is unavoidable. The earth supports us graciously, as she has always done every day of our lives, and allows us to commit bloody unspeakable crimes....and rarely seeks retribution.

We can at least reduce our own involvement and avoid purchasing crystals stolen from their homes for our enjoyment. The ones we have already can be treated with reverence and awe, and we can campaign to stop further destruction of the palnet's resources.....but paying to see such much pain in one room? Sorry; I just cannot.
