Question Where to buy crystals in Co. Durham area

I usually get my crystals as & when I chance upon them - at weekends,on holiday etc - but I would like to have some places to go to when I need a crystal-either specific (like my current hankering for Watermelon Tourmaline) or just a 'fix'.
There's nowhere in Durham City that I know of so would love to know of anywhere local-ish - Co. Durham<Northumberland etc.

Thanks,
Yvonne

Hi Yvonne.

Maybe there are 29 others like me who look at every post sometimes but can't help with an answer? Seems silly to leave a reply if I can't help or don't have anything useful to say.

Hope someone who can help you comes along soon!

Have a lovely day!

There is a shop in Newcastle in the grainger market that does crystals and is a little aladins cave of stuff. Its quite small but had plenty of things there so might be worth a try. I did a Google search and there is a shop on Newgate Street, Bishop Auckland that does crystals not sure of the name though but should be easy to find. Hope that helps

Hi Yvonne,

I have recently being buying my crystals from a shop in Stanhope, its near the tourist information centre. A lovely gentleman in there loves to chat.

I bought a malachite stalagmite there the other day. I'd seen it 2 weeks previously and had to go back and buy it.

The shop in Bishop Auckland is Bojangles, its recently moved from Newgate St to a very quiet area of the town (Bondgate I think), its Ok, but not my personal cup of tea. Was going to pop in there today for a little looksie but they were closed today.

There's a crystal shop in Rothbury - I know it's a bit far but if you're ever up that way...

Default To Those This May Concern

You guys/gals over in UK have it a bit rough when searching for crystals.. Sure there are a few new age shops.. but get right down to business.. you really have a hard time finding actually working and open to the public Gem Mines..

I'd like to hear more on this topic, seems I'm unable to locate any sort of gem mine operating in UK other then for gold prospecting.. However that doesn't mean the story ends there.. By searching this site..

GOLD PROSPECTING IN UK

They might set you guys & gals on the right track.. Maybe someone can get a site going which deals with gem mining in the UK.. I know this one lady in Scotland who has a field day finding Agates all day long just laying on the shores near her beach..

Again check my blog page and you can connect with her.

Sigon Bazaar on clayton street. Really friendly. Also thre is a one at the top of northumberland street called elula.

If you go onto google and type in ella Newcaslte it will give you the address. I think it is in ridley place.

There is also a shop in Seaton Deleval calle food for thought, which sells crystals and tumble stones. They also sell other things like bread, etc as they have their own bakery. . Essential oils etc.
