Default Don’t we need a few pounds of gut flora?

I’m thinking of having colonic irrigation in the hope it’ll help with food intolerance and general physical weakness although I’ve always been more prone to diarrhoea than constipation. I’d go to an ARCH registered practitioner. But I hesitate because I believe that we are supposed to have a few pounds of bacteria in the colon for our health. What comes out during colonic irrigation may not be aesthetically pleasing but that doesn’t mean it isn’t healthy. Also I’m concerned about the danger of potassium depletion.

I’m interested to hear other people’s opinions and experiences about this.
