This company contacted me saying they can place my ad on Facebook at a preferential rate. Being busy and having a stupid moment, I fell for their 30-day trial, thinking I can always cancel. Ģ120 later, no-one has seen my ad, and not a single response to the ad, which I made sure was trackable. When I cancelled, not only do they acknowledge my cancellation by email, but say that they have not received my cancellation letter. But they ask for this to be sent to a PO Box address, which the post office said they cannot send a signed-for letter to. Finally, I told my other half and web person, who showed me this:www.tmandcoweb.com
Please donīt fall for these scam artists. Another thing I found was that since I paid with a debit card rather than a credit card, I cannot get back the money I have spent on non-existing advertising. I am taking steps to ensure they cannot take any more money out. I have also finally stopped answering their emails, as they are now harassing me. I expect many nasty phonecalls too, which often trip over to my mobile phone at my expense. My other half reported them to Nominet, as they have mis-represented themselves there too. Next step the Trading Standards people. I wish I had never gotten myself into this. I have wasted a day making sure the ad was right and now a week trying to stop them taking out further money.
yeah them lot! I have had a number of calls about similar sounding deals promising great results. Never feels right, Luckily I don't advertise, so told them not to waste their time on me...
It must feel awful but it is a lesson learnt.
and thanks for warning others.

They called me a while ago and it sounded quite good but I asked them to email me some info and call back to give me chance to look into them, the warning bells were going as the sales person was very pushy. They didn't email anything and in the meantime I searched for reviews on them and could only find bad ones, apart from those on their own website.
I am pleased to report that they have finally accepted my cancellation and admitted receiving my cancellation letter.
I can certainly take them to a small claims court, but to waste more time on this is business madness, so it is not an option. I have already wasted enough time dealing with it. But I have reported them to the Trading Standards people.
What I find frustrating is that they have a great business idea, a slick sales operation, and they can do very well if they choose to run it as a bona fide advertising operation. I have tapped on it all, this is the last bit that remains. More tapping (EFT) later, I guess
It's a shame that someone out there is ripping people off with Facebook ads, as we've found Facebook to be quite handy.
If anyone is thinking of setting up ads there are loads of good resources on-line and it really isn't difficult to do.
If you've got a reasonable number of "Likes" for your facebook page, then Sponsored Stories work quite well to get further interest in your page - you can target your facebook ads to "within 16km" of your post code and to people that aren't already fans.
Price per click is up to you - but I halved the recommended amounts and still get plenty of impressions. You could probably go further.
You really don't need to pay anyone to make a start with FB ads - but be careful to set financial limits that you're happy with. I set Ģ30 life time of the campaign limits normally and that seems to last for at least a month.
This is not the only case. Nem solutions, I got with them one month contract, which I could cancel without problems, but they promised to me over 30,000 impressions over one calendar month while advertising on fb . No one has seen any ads. Waste of the money and time.
Wish you guys successes in promoting your sites and pages
Wow, Marek, that sounds pretty much like the ones that called me. Hopefully, with more on forums like this on these scams, therapists will be better informed in the future. I should have googled their name first, but they sounded so professional and I couldnīt see any reason why they should be scammers.
I've had calls from people selling Facebook advertising. I asked how would they know to whom my ads should be targetted? E.g. because my FB profile says i'm single, I automatically get the dating agency ads, but how would FB know if someone needed a counsellor? The woman said that FB analyses every word that people write on their profiles etc, and for instance if someone said they felt depressed, they would get ads from therapists/counsellors.
I thought this was very intrusive, and didn't want to get involved with it at all, even if I could afford it. But it was an interesting conversation, because many people these days channel their whole social and even internal life through FB, and have no idea that some great computer in America is reading and recording every word they write. There still is such a thing as privacy in the real world, but not online.
The Social Media People have been calling me non stop for months and I keep telling them I'm not interested. I don't understand how facebook advertising works, what happens if all your information is set to private? Surely you're missing out on your 'target audience' as they say. I asked this question to them and they couldn't really give me an answer so I lost interest after that.
Also watch out for calls from anyone offering you cheap advertising in local or regional papers that you haven't seen before. They most likely don't exist!
Once you have advertised in a genuine paper you are likely to get calls from one of these fictitious papers who are all "owned" by Wyvern Media. If you ask for a proof, they make up some cheap paper with no date and only containing adverts covering the entire country. Apparently they put out some copies in a couple of places to cover themselves legally. Over the phone they promise all sorts of things including large readership and distribution but they never put that into writing.
As always they get away with it because most people don't bother taking them to court.
