Default The Butterfly Effect

Hi everyone

Last night I watched a great little supernatural movie called The Butterfly Effect. I'm not sure what the title has to do with the movie but it was a film that gets you thinking.....what if?

A young man (Kutcher) blacks out harmfull memories of significant events of his life. As he grows up he finds a way to remember these lost memories and a supernatural way to alter his life.

Have you ever wondered how differently your life might have turned out had you taken a left turn instead of a right on the day of that fateful accident, or chosen a different college or career path, or not gone to that dance the night you met your one true love?

All of us have played this `what if' game at some point in our lives, speculating about where we might be, whom we might know and what we might be doing now if even a single event in our past had played out differently.

And how many of us would be willing to return to a key moment in our past if we knew that, by doing something different, we could forever alter the path our life ended up taking?

And what if we discovered that by undoing that event we ended up altering our lives and the lives of those around us in ways we never expected?

Would we still want to do it?

I was leery of watching this because Ashton Kutcher stars in it, but he acted suprisingly well.

Hi

I have also seen this movie and thought it was very good. Sort of movie where your still thinking about it for days. A bit far fetched on the time travel aspect. They should have under scored that the Butter Fly Effect in Psychology is Chaos Theory, about the effects of a traumatic past on the human mind and how by through regression thearpy memories can be manipilated to deal with current chaos in the patients life. Check out this article....

[]I booked this movie via Sky and certainly enjoyed it. I might have enjoyed it more though if I hadn't booked "The Butterfly Effect (Signed)". I thought that was the name of the movie and didn't realise that it was with a signer for deaf viewers, in the bottom right of the screen. All the way through.

A WONDERFUL service but ....

... sorry about me!

DOH.

I saw this film at the cinema with a friend and was blown away. I then got it out on DVD so my partner could watch it and couldn't believe it when the ending was totally different. Took me a while to find out that there were 2 endings made for the film but the first (the director's version) was considered to harsh for the screen and so they made a more hollywood version instead. I have to say I prefer the Hollywood endning but only coz i'm a romantic at heart!!

Hiya Nellie

I am very intriqued what the other ending was.

The ending I saw was where Aston Krutcher walks down the street and see the blonde women, she just looks at him but doesn't recognise him and carries on walking away.

Love Angel x

HI Angel

Thats the Hollywood ending... the Director's ending is not as romantic shall we say... I won't tell you the ending, @ least not on here coz it would spoil it for others... if you really wanna know though pm me & I'll fill you in!!
