ayurveda?

Does anyone know anything about ayurvedic treatments? I am currently seeing an ayurvedic consultant for my excema and have been for 2 months.... the excema wasn't that bad when i started, but since taking this medicine it has got so bad I can hardly move.... At the initial consultation I asked him whether i could excpect it to get worse before it gets better but he assured me it would not.... and now when i call him he says it's normal detoxing???!! So, I feel a bit like he is trying to fob me off and I feel like i've lost faith in it. Also I don't want to keep spending £40 per month for nothing - but if I just ned to ride it out for it to go away completely then it will be worth it... Does anyone else have any experiences of ayurvedic therapy - is his normal?
