Default Traditional Indian Ayurveda

Hi everyone,

I wondered if any of you could guide me to any info on Ayurveda courses- not the superficial Westernkind that skates over the surface, but the traditional Indian kind?I've done a few web searches but can't seem to find anything of value, so knowing that a couple of members here have studies the Ayurveda, wondered if anyone could point me in the right direction? Thanks!

Hi Az

To the best of my knowledge, Ayurveda is not something that can be studied in courses here in the west. It's a system of medicine that takes years to study, just like allopathic medicine. Having said that there is a School of Ayurveda or some such in Regents Park in London but I believe they just offer treatments not training.

I should have made my post clearer- I did mean Ayurveda courses in India. I think you're right too- it takes 7 years minimum to study the system properly, and even then you can't expect to have mastered it...I think I remember someone making a post here saying that they went to India to do a short intensive course, although it was applying Ayurveda to massage treatments rather than to become a Doctor of the subject.

Well I did meet an English woman last year who is studying Ayurveda in Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu in India. I can't find her card but I just found this link through Google: http://www.collegesintamilnadu.com/M...ical_index.htm

Have a look under Ayurveda.
