Just interested to know if anyone has ever had anything like this.............
For over 20 years I have suffered on occassions a form of arthritis. It has never been diagnosed as anything other than a form of arthritis.
It started out in my elbow, (like tennis elbow) over the years moved to my hands and sometimes feet, and attacks any joint in them. It only lasts 24 to48 hours.Swells, very red and shiny and feels like your joint is going to explode the pain is so servere. The only wayI attack it, is with aspro products. It somewhat settles the pain to a degree, but the redness and swelling remain. Have been given anti-inflamatory,but would rathernot take them if I can help it. It looks like gout......but isn't!
Hi,
i have had the odd bout of arthritis over the years, though nothing as bad as your symptoms.
I found the cause to be intolerances to certain foods/drinks such as coffee, red wine etc.
Might be worth having an allergy test to eliminate that avenue of cause.
My father had great success in keeping his arthritis at bay by simply taking honey each day (1 teaspoon with a cuppa) and cod liver oil capsules, this may not work for everyone but he never suffered badly again so might be worth a try.
I have had arthritis for years in the back and knee..I have worked in the health proffession for 15 years and have seen this with the arthritis...but do not let it go ..you should really have a dr look at it next time you have a problem with it..could be something else going on...I know I use heat do take an anti-inflamatory but that is because of the back and the pain...
Hi aicoma, and Mistymin, have had allergy tests......nothing! Although at times I have thought of certain foods eg some fruits, but then when I put it to the test .......nothing.
Going back a few years I had blood tests and was told may have mild lupus, and was refered to aspecialist. By the time I was able to get in to see her, I had no sign of anything, and so that was discounted. I never followed through again.
So over the years have learnt to just put up with it.
My father was diagnosed nearly 30 years ago with a severe form of arthiritis. A man he became friendly with from seeing him at the hospital regularly was diagnosed the same day with the same form. This man was in a wheelchair within 5 years, my father still plays league badminton twice a week and teaches badminton once a week. He made sure he kept the joints active, wears a support to play badminton, exercises daily and uses a foot spa to help the circulation in his feet. He also takes 1000mg Glucosamine tablets (so do I - see below).
I had a severe knee problem when I was about 8 years old and was told that I would probably end up with arthiritis in it later in life. After the age of about 25, every now and then, my knee would act up but never for more than a few weeks at a time. The last attack of this was two years ago and and was the worst ever, the doctor suspected it was arthiritis.
I had tried reiki a few times, mainly from friends who had been trained and attuned in it. I felt that reiki was a load of claptrap and was just a new age "pyramid sell" that did not work - I never felt any difference from it. However, at this time, I came to know a Reiki Master who has very fixed opinions on Reiki - in particular the fact that it should not be done for free as so many people seem to. Apparently, as it's an exchange of energy, there should be some form of exchange from the person receiving it. I had a 30 minute session with him by the end of which my knee was fine and the hospital found nothing - this pain has never come back since then. I would recommend at least trying Reiki, I can't prove this session was the reason the pain went away but I do feel it's more than coincidence especially as I felt the difference during and immediately after the session.
As prescription drug options diminish, arthritis sufferers are scrambling for relief. Experts recommend these eat-right tips to ease the ache:
Vitamin C
A 10-year Boston University study of 149 people with knee osteoarthritis (OA) found that getting less than 150 mg of vitamin C per day tripled the rate of cartilage breakdown. High-C foods include sweet peppers, peaches, and strawberries.
Omega-3s
Several clinical trials found that eating 3 g of fish fats a day relieved the joint pain, swelling, and morning stiffness of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and reduced the need for drugs. Fish oil seems to cut the inflammation that causes RA symptoms.
Weight Loss
New Wake Forest University research found that reduced production of the hormone leptin--generated by fat tissue--may be the reason weight loss alleviates OA pain. In the 18-month study, 316 overweight and obese people with knee OA lost 3 to 6% of their body weight; falling leptin levels closely corresponded to diminishing pain and disability symptoms.
try the Bio Lamp it is great for arthritis you can get it on a free trial for 30 days and it has worked for me my back and shoulder are almost pain free now If it works let me know ceefirr
The best remendy for arthritis is glucosamine sulphate. Glucosamine tablets and capsules are easily available with the local pharmacist. It has to be normally taken for a couple of weeks before you start seeing any results.
Many arthritis suffers take glucosamine in combination with chondroitin sulphate, rose hip extract or celadrin all of which are known to complement the effect of glucosamine.

Hi. Have you heard of the book Curing Arthritis the Drug-Free Way by Margaret Hills? Might be worth a look particularly as you have an aversion to taking the anti-inflams. Hope some of the suggestions on here help. I'd also add my support to avoiding or really limiting coffee and wine. (Do you think back over what you'd been eating in the days around the attack? Good way to see if these are some of the culprits,)....and as for Glucosamine and Pure Cod Liver Oil I'd agree they can be fantastic if you find they work for you. Do hope so. My mom used to talk to us about the value of buying good brands of vitamins and minerals etc... and you know how these things go. That's right. Over the years she's proved to us that she was right! Be interesting to hear how you get on and sending a prayer for relief from your pain x
I am a health practitioner and have helped many clients with Arthritis. One of the keys is to keep to Alkaline foods as much as possible avoiding red meat, dairy and processed/convenience foods. There is a great book called Alkalise or Die by Dr Theodore Baroody which offers plenty of info to help you achieve a more alkaline approach. Cider Vinegar is also excellent as well as Omega 3, Turmeric, Celery and Nettle Tea or herb tincture.
Hi I would love to tell you about one product I came across it is called Forever Freedom. This is an excellent and very safe product to give to humams and animals suffering from joint problems. Forever Freedom not only contains the recommended levels of glucosamine, chondroitin and MSM but also over 80% Aloe Vera Gel. The Aloe Vera will increase the absorption of the chondroprotective agents thus maximising their benefits. My friends husband used to come home from work and had go straight to bed because of pain. He did not see his children or wife after;two days of taking this product he strated to feel the benefits.Amazing he is a new man.
Hello! I know this post is quite old, and I haven't read all the responses, so someone might have already suggested this... but I've been reading about the medicinal properties of common weeds recently, and I've seen some amazing testimonies about the benefits of nettles for arthritis. They've got other healing benefits, so I've been juicing them with apple and carrot - fantastic!
Also, fasting has been known to dramatically reduce arthritis pain. How about a juice fast using nettles along with apple/carrot/anything else to make it taste yummy?#
Just to add to the mix of natural remedies try this: add few strands of Saffron ..rather than Turmeric (as mentioned above) as it is far more potent.
Saffron not only reduces the inflammation but also acts as a mild analgesic..so you may feel pain free and swellin free..provided you add this to your food dishes, even hot drinks...on a regular basis.
Don't mind the colour it turns your milk for eg..as the end result is far worth it !
The key to dealing with arthritis is in understanding the loss of moisture in the tissues and joints. The result is now you have joints that are functioning with less cushioning and fluidity to move freely. In these terms, diet is usually the number one culprit. Artificial diets of processed food are what pull moisture away from the joints. Primary examples of this are foods that contain, salt, white sugar, bleach white flour, white rice, all kinds of fried foods, etc. Getting off the wheat centered diets is a good idea. You have to get the body more alkaline. You have to get away from the foods that block or congest the flow of blood and nutrients by clogging up the veins and arteries. Take in lesser dairy products like milk and get into more vegetable milks which would keep the blood flow going very well.

This is a very good way to control arthritis and it is surely long term. For short term relief you may need some supplements, but stay away from the knock it dead medications . They will detroy you.
Both the food industry and pharmaceutical industry are making big profits at the expense of our health. Health problem emerges from eating processed foods, artificial sweeteners, colouring, additives, fizzy drinks ect.
These food choices depletes our vitamin, mineral and amino acid intake. One missing nutrient causes an imbalance in the body’s ability to maintain good health and heal. Then when we fall ill we are prescribed the appropriate medications.
These money making industry's provides a vicious circle of Obesity, Heart disease, Hormonal imbalances, Cancers, Alzheimer’s, Arthritis, High blood pressure etc.
We have much more control over our health than we might think. If you provide your body with the right nutrition and lifestyle changes the body will rejuvenate and heal itself naturally.

please use Reiki. first becoming attuned yourself through a reiki master ,after you have experienced the benefits of Reiki for your arthritis, would then allow you to self heal and also to heal others. A Reiki attunement is a wonderful experience, each person will experience it differently, some will feel filled with light, others will feel the energy flowing throught them, whatever, the feeling, another healer has been created and they will take this healing energy with them for the rest of their life.
